A lovely day to you all, dear Hivers. I'm glad to make it to this wonderful community today.
Earlier this week, I shared the making process of this Kimono blouse, which I made for a good friend and as promised, I will be sharing with you easy steps on how I made this comfy shorts to pair beautifully with the blouse.
If you are a beginner in sewing, trust me, making shorts is one of the simplest sewing projects you can do, and I'm sure that with the easy steps I will be sharing in this post, you can recreate one yourself.
Materials Used
One and a half yards of ankara fabric
Elastic band
sewing thread
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by cutting out the front pattern of the shorts, starting from the waist, the hip, crotch depth, and length of the shorts, using her meaurement, i also added ease allowance so it will be comfortable to wear and not tight
- Using the front pattern, I extended it to cut the back pattern, so the back pattern is bigger than the front. This also enables the shorts to balance or align on your right side properly.
- Continuing, I sewed and closed the crotch area of the front and back patterns
- Then proceeded to join the sides of the front and back
- Next, I folded and sewed the hem of the shorts
- And also sewed the inseam area
- To firm up the waist area, I cut out a waistband, which I passed the elastic through and stitched on top to give it that beautiful, ready-made look. And that completes the making process of the short. Beautiful, right?
I hope you found this tutorial helpful. Till next time, stay blessed.
