One of my mission here on hive is to showcase the simplicity in making beautiful dresses, i use to be in that position where I taught making dresses was like a rocket science, just so you know, it isn't, so join me as I explain in details how I made this dress, it was made for a big size eleven years old girl, this process can also be used to make ball dresses for girls of any age range, even babies.
Material needed are
- dutchess fabric
- cotton lining fabe
- tulle also known as net
- dull face satin fabric
- fabric gum
- zipper
- applique
- thread
- hard net
And of course, your taperule and a sewing machine.

Starting,
- I drafted a basic body pattern, for both front and back

2 I replicated the drafted pattern on the dutchess and lining fabric

3 I joined the front and back together for both the dutchess and lining fabric, also added a small sleeve to the dutchess which is the main fabric, then tuned and tacked the applique to the front.

4 then turned the lining with the dutchess to give it a neat finishing.

For the down part of the this gown,
5 I cut out my tulle/nets in different lengths, according to the measurements of the girl

6 I will be adding strips of dutchess fabric to the base of the first and second step net, the rest of the nets will be gathered inside these two steps to give it a full ball dress look, for this dress I used twelve yards of tulle

7 next, i cut my dull face satin fabric in flare using the waist measurement as the radius, then I replicated it on the lining fabric as well,

8 I gathered all my tulle then place it on the satin flare cut out

9 I gathered the hard net on the satin flare, this is to give the ball dress a fuller effect

Now the down part of this dress is ready,

Lastly
10 I joined the upper ready bodice to the down finished tulle skirt
The final look.😍😍

Thank you for following through to this point.
