On Monday it rained all day and I slept most of the day. Not much done besides a load of dishes and the cats fed.
On Tuesday it rained all day and I slowly got a shower, laundry done, most of the kitchen cleaned up, and finished the budget and bills for last month.
The old cat was supervising the photography this morning when I took this of the back steps. They are deceptive. They’ve apparently acquired a thin skim of algae or something green and when it gets wet, it’s slippery. As we’ve not had much rain all summer, I didn’t realize it.
I went to go outside on Tuesday afternoon and my foot went right out from underneath me and down the steps I slid. I had ahold of one of the railings, to no avail. Nothing broken, probably have some good bruises by morning. But I did break the old dish I was carrying. Hate when that happens.
The old cat has dropped deep into dementia since Sunday. She spooks at odd things and is no longer sleeping in her favorite places. She’s also not eating much. We spend a lot of time looking for her.
Here’s all but 2 of the jars of sauce. There was no room for them in the old root cellar and the new one isn’t finished. So I put them in the old pantry as there were still some shelves in there. That’s where all the canning jars ended up also, for the same reason.
Once my tenant finishes all the weedwacking, I’m hoping he will tackle the new root cellar.
We got nearly 6” of rain in the 2 days it rained here in Western Mass.
It’s to stop raining early on Wednesday but will be far too wet for garden work. I have a lot of sewing that needs done so maybe I’ll tackle that.
