Participating in this web art contest was like entering a creative flow that's hard to explain, one of those that pulls you in and before you know it you're totally immersed. From the beginning I felt it wasn't just another contest, it was an open space to experiment, make mistakes, test ideas and, above all, let out everything that keeps hammering in the head of someone who lives creating.
Participar dessa concurso de arte na web3 foi tipo entrar num fluxo criativo que não dá pra explicar fácil, daqueles que te puxam pra dentro e quando você vê já tá totalmente imerso. Desde o começo eu senti que não era só mais um concurso, era um espaço aberto pra experimentar, errar, testar ideia e principalmente colocar pra fora tudo aquilo que fica martelando na cabeça de quem vive criando.

The theme arrived with a strong presence; this aesthetic of Nonish culture with Gnars' iconic pixelated red glasses isn't just a visual symbol, it's almost its own language. It carries attitude, identity, and a certain digital rebellion that resonates strongly with the spirit of Web 3. When I first saw it, a whole host of references, possibilities, and paths to explore immediately came to mind.
O tema já chegou com presença forte, essa estética da cultura nonish com o icônico óculos vermelho pixelado da gnars não é só um símbolo visual, é quase uma linguagem própria. Ele carrega atitude, identidade e uma certa rebeldia digital que conversa muito com o espírito da web3. Quando bati o olho nisso, já veio um monte de referência, de possibilidades, de caminhos pra explorar.

In the artwork I created, I worked precisely with this mix of elements. I sought to balance the visual weight of the glasses as a central piece with the rest of the scene, building everything around them in a way that didn't feel forced. At the same time, I wanted to bring a more cybernetic feel, leaning even more towards the digital, as if those glasses weren't just a symbol, but almost a technological extension within that universe. I worked with details, textures, and interferences reminiscent of glitches, codes, and visual noise, reinforcing this hybrid aesthetic between the urban and the digital.
Na composição da arte que eu fiz, eu trabalhei justamente essa mistura de elementos. Busquei equilibrar o peso visual do óculos como peça central com o restante da cena, construindo tudo ao redor dele de um jeito que não ficasse forçado. Ao mesmo tempo, quis trazer um ar mais cibernético, puxando ainda mais pro digital, como se aquele óculos não fosse só um símbolo, mas quase uma extensão tecnológica dentro daquele universo. Trabalhei detalhes, texturas e interferências que lembram glitch, códigos e ruídos visuais, reforçando essa estética híbrida entre o urbano e o digital.

From there, it was a process that mixes chaos and construction. I started scribbling ideas, thinking about composition, about how to fit this main element in without falling into the obvious. I wanted the glasses not just to be a detail thrown into the artwork, but to be the center of everything, almost like a character, something that guides the eye and dictates the rhythm of the piece. I tested colors, contrasts, and layers, always trying to maintain this more raw identity, influenced by the street, but now traversed by this more futuristic atmosphere.
A partir daí foi aquele processo que mistura caos e construção. Comecei a rabiscar ideias, pensar em composição, em como encaixar esse elemento principal sem cair no óbvio. Queria que o óculos não fosse só um detalhe jogado na arte, mas que fosse o centro de tudo, quase como um personagem, algo que guia o olhar e dita o ritmo da peça. Fui testando cores, contrastes e camadas, sempre tentando manter essa identidade mais crua, com influência da rua, mas agora atravessada por esse clima mais futurista.

And there was an extra ingredient that made everything even more intriguing. The prize wasn't just symbolic; there was a cryptocurrency reward, which already brings that direct connection to the Web 3 universe, where art also becomes value in a decentralized way. But beyond that, there was something that resonated even more strongly with me: the winner would have their design printed on a brand new skateboard deck. That changes the game. Because then it's not just about seeing your art on a screen, it's about seeing it take shape, become an object, circulate around, tear through the streets, become part of someone's daily life. It's art leaving the digital world and touching the asphalt, the concrete, real life. This brought a different weight to the creation, a greater desire to make something that worked both aesthetically and physically, something that had a real impact.
E tinha um tempero a mais que deixava tudo ainda mais instigante. A premiação não era só simbólica, rolava recompensa em criptomoedas, o que já traz aquela conexão direta com o universo web3, onde a arte também vira valor de forma descentralizada. Mas além disso, tinha algo que batia ainda mais forte pra mim, o vencedor teria o design estampado em um shape de skate novinho. Isso muda o jogo. Porque aí não é só sobre ver sua arte na tela, é ver ela ganhar corpo, virar objeto, circular por aí, rasgar rua, fazer parte do cotidiano de alguém. É a arte saindo do digital e encostando no asfalto, no concreto, na vida real. Participating in all of this also brought that feeling of connection. Even though everyone was creating in their own corner, you could feel a collective energy flowing, a group of people spread all over the world, each with their own interpretation, aesthetic, and experience, but all orbiting around the same idea. This is very strong within web3, this feeling of community even at a distance. I came away from this experience with more knowledge, more inspiration, and an even greater desire to continue producing, exploring, and telling visual stories in my own way. Because in the end, that's what it is: each piece of art is a part of who we are, transformed into an image, a texture, an idea. And participating in this contest was exactly that: leaving a little bit of myself recorded within this universe and imagining that, somehow, this creation could leave the screen and conquer the world, whether in crypto or sliding down the streets in the form of a shape.
Participar disso tudo também trouxe aquela sensação de conexão. Mesmo cada um criando no seu canto, dava pra sentir que tinha uma energia coletiva rolando, uma galera espalhada pelo mundo todo, cada um com sua leitura, sua estética, sua vivência, mas todo mundo orbitando em torno da mesma ideia. Isso é muito forte dentro da web3, essa sensação de comunidade mesmo à distância. Saí dessa experiência com mais bagagem, mais inspiração e aquela vontade ainda maior de continuar produzindo, explorando e contando histórias visuais do meu jeito. Porque no final é isso, cada arte é um pedaço do que a gente é, transformado em imagem, em textura, em ideia. E participar dessa contest foi exatamente isso, deixar um pouco de mim registrado dentro desse universo e imaginar que, de alguma forma, essa criação podia sair da tela e ganhar o mundo, seja em cripto, seja deslizando nas ruas em forma de shape.
