Finally, it looks like this Mega-Corp is feeling some backlash over their new policies that are helping the Chinese government oppress their people.
A top level project, Code Name Dragon Fly, no I'm not making that name up for dramatic effect, has forced some of Googles top computer scientists to have what seems to be a crisis of conscious.
I almost want to call it an operation instead of their new-speak style jargon. Project does describe this CIA like meddling but since we are talking about a private company, as I'm sure you have been reminded too often lately,
I guess I'll use the term.
Take a look at a clip from that linked article to get an idea of what this creepy "project" and decide for yourself if this sounds like the act of a company or a government.
It seems to me that not only are they acting like a sovereign entity and not subject to our nations laws but actively subverting American values as well as the United Nation's ideology in regard to human rights. The real question, I would say is, who can stop them from behaving this way or are they truly correct in thinking they are beyond the rules we have to follow.
Thankfully, there is some resistance from within. It is very rare to see a person actually stand on their principles and reject opportunities to earn vast fortunes for the sake of total strangers and I for one, want to shake this man's hand and buy him a beer.
Some would say this is too little too late but I won't rob people of that hope. I have been a Master Free Mason and participated in other activities for the sake of charity and doing good for others just to be disenfranchised by corruption in the higher ranks of these organizations myself after all. Perhaps that makes me sympathetic to these engineers and programmers because on a human level, I do not believe they intended to a part of this human rights debacle.
The hope I want to bring in to this conversation, comes from the idea that Paulson has started something in the ranks of Google. All good people need to fulfill their altruistic is a leader who will use them to that end rather than selfish and dare I say, evil insidious ways like Google has been.
I'm optimistic that more of the top producers, the movers and shakers so to speak, at all these tech companies start leaving and taking as many of the decent folk at these companies with as possible. Keep an eye out for Mr. Paulson because he may represent the key to taking apart a Mega-Corp if he deems to start a new organization with like minded techs who choose to leave like he did. Cross your fingers that this is the first domino of many to fall and we all get more choice and freedom thereof if/when these monopoly co.'s get some competition.
