Hi Silverbloggers fam! What's for today? I hope all is good! I will share the centennial birthday celebration of my grandmother. I hope you will be inspired and enjoy this post.
This is my grandmother, Felicitas Portuguez Canoy, we fondly call her Lola Itang. She was a Retired Teacher and had 2 children. The eldest is an Engineer, and now lives in the U.S. and the second one is my Mom who is a Retired Teacher. My Lola lives with my parents, my Mom is the one who sees and takes care of her even though she has a caregiver.
Everyone sang a birthday song, Lola's eyes widened in surprise, her eyes shimmered with unshed tears, and she was touched by the love surrounding her. Two of her great-grandsons brought the cake to her. Looking around at the loving faces that surround her, telling her to blow out the candles. Her face rose up, her two great-grandsons told her to make a wish. Her eyes were closed and she made her wish before she blew out the candles. All cheered and gave her applause. Lola's face was full of happiness as her lips curved into a soft joyful smile.
The venue created an inviting atmosphere which perfectly suited the celebration. The hotel offered both venue space and food services for Lola's birthday celebration by providing a delectable meal to all guests. The warm atmosphere combined with the tasty food created a perfect celebration to mark Lola's special day.
This is my family, they couldn't attend personally, but they made sure to be part of Lola's birthday celebration. They sent videos to wish her a happy birthday. My husband wasn't able to come home with me because he had work in Dubai. My eldest son and his family are in Canada. My youngest son was in Manila for training, and it coincided with his Actual Exam for his training during Lola's birthday so he had to focus on that. A bittersweet moment but I made sure to send love in every way possible. Lola was teary-eyed and made a flying kiss while watching the video.
These moments were some of the presentations made in the program. My Mom gave a short message to Lola and grabbed her opportunity to thank all the visitors who came. The three pictures show Lola their talent in singing. Lola really enjoyed the whole program. While having a program dinner was also served.
Our family picture, we may not be complete but Lola knows she is well-loved by the family who couldn't make it to be with her on her birthday. Lola's eldest son had a video call before her celebration started, sadly we haven't captured the moments while they were talking.
Families of Lola's brothers and sisters.
Relatives from Cebu and Cavite and Lola's younger brother. They are 10 siblings, now only the two of them are alive. He's brother is 91 years old.
We took selfies with Lola Itang.
This centennial birthday celebration was loaded with love, happiness and cherished memories. It was clear how she was deeply loved and praised by everyone. This celebration was a testament to her enduring spirit and we all left feeling incredibly grateful to be part of her extraordinary life.
