Hive gives you perspective. I've met people from around the world here. I've been corrected on ideas I had from my upbringing, that simply were not right. I've been welcomed into people's lives when they share who they are in posts, I've learned traditions and ways of life that I was totally unaware of. I've grown here.
I've become a better writer here, and I know I'm not alone there. We all share our love and passion here, and we have some of the best writers I've had the pleasure of reading. They dance on the page and embolden me, and I've had the joy of returning that gift. Encouragement and constructive criticism, Hive is a writer's workshop.
Or it is a game studio if that's your thing, there's whole communities for that. Those with wanderlust share their journeys on Pinmapple, and you can imagine you are in Venice, Japan, the Maldives... Perhaps you are more into art, Hive will wow you there too. We have wildly talented digital artists, painters, sculpturers. We have many thriving food communities, and I've found international recipes to warm the soul. Vegan? Perfect, there's a community just for you.
Maybe you don't like any of that fluffy stuff, and you want to yell about politics. Cool, we have several communities for that. Or if you'd specifically like to talk about money related issues, we have a whole website for you! It's called Leofinance, and they'll love ya there.
We have communities for poems, for the weekend, for walks. We have a place to just complain, if that's what you need to do. We have the most female positive women groups I've ever seen. If you're a mom in a facebook group, you'll know just what I mean. We don't do that here.
This is an amazing place. Hive has become my home in the last 7 months, I log on every day. I don't always post, but I try to leave at least 10 comments a day. Sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less. I have MS and at times I'm quieter than normal, my friends understand. Hive isn't just about upvoting each other or making money, most of us care about something bigger.
I mean...Yeah, I'm making money here. My fiction stories don't have to be accepted by a publisher, I put them up when I am ready. Compared to medium or readsy, I'm making a killing on Hive, but that's not the motivation to post here. To be perfectly cocky, I could sell my better stories for 50$ or more a pop to magazines. So, why don't I?
Because I get a payout that is more than reasonable, and I get to add value to the blockchain. That is worth more than just sharking for the best dollar price. This helps make things like water boreholes for the people of Ghana possible, or the massive aid we've sent to Ukrainians in need. There are a lot of creators who are on the same page. Hive isn't just a monetary investment, it's an investment in a digital community.
We each give what we can, and Hive grows. Look how far this blockchain has come in just 3 years! I cannot wait to see where we are in 3 more!
Here is my little power-up to celebrate this milestone. Thank you to everyone who made it possible for us to be here today, and everyone who makes this a wonderful place!! 💕 Shout out to
