Jim Corbett National Park, located in the Himalayan foothills is one of India's oldest and most renowned wildlife reserves. Famous for its dense biodiversity and the rare Bengal tiger, it is visited by nature enthusiasts, wildlife photographers, and adventure enthusiasts from all over the country. But when is the best time to visit this natural paradise ?
The ideal time to visit Jim Corbett depends on what you’re looking to experience. For wildlife sightings, especially tigers, the summer months from March to June are great. The animals often come out in search of water, making them easier to spot. However, these months can be quite hot, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C.
If you want to enjoy pleasant weather and greenery in abundance, winter between the months of November and February is ideal. The temperature is between 5°C and 25°C, and nature is at its best in this time. This is also the best time to go birdwatching since migratory birds throng the region.
The park is still partially closed during the monsoon season (July to September) because of heavy rain and road conditions, although the Jhirna zone remains open throughout the year.
Road travel from Delhi to Jim Corbett is a favorite among many tourists. The scenic drive is approximately 240 km long takes around 5-6 hours .
Regardless of the season an organized road journey from Delhi to Jim Corbett is a once-in-a-lifetime experience surrounded by nature, adventure, and peace.
