Hello Splinterlands community, The challenge for this week is to showcase the blazing magical power of Djinn Apprentice in the battlefield. I have an interesting battle I want to share where I utilize Djinn Apprentice very well to secure the victory.
About Djinn Apprentice
Djinn Apprentice is a rare fire unit that deals magic damage which is part of the Chaos Legion set. The level 1 regular foil card is currently $0.10 in the market while the Gold Foil Card is around $1.50 on the market as of this writing. The price for this card is very affordable and since there are still a lot of Chaos Legion Packs available in the game, there are a lot of opportunity to collect this card.
The figure above shows the complete statistics of Djinn Apprentice from Level 1 up to Level 8. Since it is a rare unit it would be a somehow costly to upgrade this card. My opinion for this one is to upgrade this card to at least Level 4 so it can deal 3 magic damage to opponent and slowly accumulate 60 cards to reach Level 6 where you can unlock the Deathblow ability.
My Battle
This is the ranked battle I want to share where I used my Djinn Apprentice to win this ranked battle, you can also watch this match by clicking the link below.

The Ruleset
Unprotected
There are two ruleset for this battle, first is unprotected. This rule removes all armors on every monsters on the battlefield it also disables any armor buff coming from any monsters and summoners. This rule somehow reduces the durability of tank monsters in this battle.
Keep your Distance
The other ruleset for this match is Keep your distance. This rule does not allow any melee monsters to be used in this battle. The option for this match is to go with either ranged or magic dealing monsters and could also be a combination between the two.
My Lineup
Summoner: Delwyn Dragonscale
I used Delwyn Dragonscale as my summoner for this battle. It is a dragon type summoner that buffs my team with +1 Magic Damage. This summoner is a good choice for this match since melee monsters are not allowed and my plan is to use magic dealing monsters.
Monster 1 : Peaceful Giant
I put Peaceful Giant on the first position because it is a very durable card. It does not deal any damage at all so it is allowed for this match. This card also does not get affected by the unprotected ruleset since it doesn't have any armor.
Monster 2 : Scavo Firebolt
I also used my Scavo Firebolt in this match. It is a decent ranged damage card that deals 2 ranged damage and only cost 4 mana. It may not get any buffs from my summoner but this card can still be a threat in the battlefield.
Monster 3 : Magi of Chaos
I also used my Magi of Chaos in this match since it deals 3 magic damage to opponents with the buff coming from my summoner. This card is also quite durable and can take some ranged or magic damage from my opponent.
Monster 4 : Djinn Inferni
This card is my main magic damage dealer in this battle. It already has a 3 magic damage and with the buff coming from my summoner this monster now deals 4 magic damage that can instantly kill my opponent's monster.
Monster 5 : Djinn Apprentice
Lastly I put my Djinn Apprentice in the last position so it can deal more magic damage to opponents as the battle progresses. This card also deals 3 magic damage just like Magi of Chaos with the buff coming from my summoner and hopefully those magic damages coming from this card as well as from the other two would be enough to secure me this win.
ROUND 1
During the first round my Peaceful Giant did not survive the ranged and magic damage coming from the opponent's monsters. The opponent's molten ash golem was also taken down by the end of the first round.
ROUND 2
The second round is a huge win for me, my Scavo Firebolt cannot deal any damage at all since it is currently on the first position and was taken down. On the other side the opponent loses its Djinn Apprentice and Lava Spider that makes the opponents' Scavo Firebolt to be placed in the first position that makes the card unable to attack on the next round.
ROUND 3
This third round was a close one, my opponent gets to attack first since it has a higher speed with the buff from the summoner. My Magi of Chaos did not have a chance to attack and was taken down immediately. My Djinn Inferni was able to one shot the Scavo Firebolt with 4 massive magic damage and my Djinn Apprentice takes down the Fire Elemental leaving one single opponent heading to the last round.
ROUND 4
The last round was a guaranteed victory for me. The opponent has ranged monster left on its team which would not be able to attack this round. My Djinn Inferni took down the last remaining opponent to secure me this ranked battle win.
Djinn Apprentice is a useful card to utilize in ranked battles. Its 2 magic damage could be useful against monsters with high amount of shield and for battles where melee monsters are not allowed to be used. The mana and ruleset for this match fits very well with the lineup I used for this battle since magic dealing monsters can still attack on the first position while ranged monsters are not. There are other interesting lineup that can be build with Djinn Apprentice using different Fire or Dragon summoners.
