Its week 1 (06/01/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by writing as
on the
account.
My goals for this year are:
- Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
- Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to
by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).
I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.
This weeks pic - We are up visiting the west coast of Scotland again. It has been raining solid these past few days, but this morning we had clear skies for a change, with the clouds taking on a nice orange tinge at sunrise.
Weekly Stats
Weekly commentary
- Its my first savings update of 2024, and its been a slow week although I did break the 11k HP barrier which was pretty exciting,
- I've been so busy these last few weeks with the holiday period that I've not been posting as much. As such my weekly income for this last week was +48 HP. Thats more than I thought it would be so I aint complaining !,
- My HP total now stands at 11029 HP and I need a further 7471 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. That requires 145 per week, which is pretty steep and will be quite a challenge,
- My HP delegation to
increased by +1HP to 2020 HP. I need to delegate another 980 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 19 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve,
- I delegated another +15 HP to
to bring that total to 250 HP which was the target delegation I was aiming for,
- I started increasing my delegation to
adding +12 HP, brining the total delegated to 112 HP. The aim to to take that to 250 HP as well.
- The main aim of these community delegations was to support these great curation accounts that have certainly helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from
,
and
as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !,
- I gained +2.65 EDS. My 2020 HP delegation to
brought in +1.63 EDS this week and the rest was from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 121 of those now). My total now stands just under 100 at 99.63. I selected increasing my delegation to
as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total. I'm also considering buying into the new EDSD token when that comes out, which will also help to give my EDS production a nice boost,
- I gained +2.024 DAB this week, taking my total to just over 47, which is again a little above average in terms of weekly gains, which is nice,
- I gained +2 DBOND taking my total to 721. I'll be interested to see what is coming from the DAB/DBOND project in 2024, and will more than likely invest further into it - I like the synergy between the two tokens and how they continue to grow all by themselves,
- I gained +1.371 DRIP this week, taking my total to 102, which is a result of the daily passive gains over the week from staking the DRIP I already have,
- I had 8 HBD:HIVE trades go through for a total profit of just over 4 HIVE this week. The trades were all fairly small for small margins, but I'm happy still happy with this.
Plan for the coming week
- To continue to make sure I post daily/regularly to ensure daily HBD and HIVE author rewards,
- To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards,
- To continue to increase undelegated HIVE in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
- To continue with HBD:HIVE trading. I'll also be adding some additional funds (in small amounts) to my trading capital each week, in the active trading range, which will help grow the gains over the long term (albeit slowly),
- This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to
will add a further 5 HP,
- This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 5 HP to my
delegation.
In summary, it was a slow week although I'm still happy with it because everything increased, so its all going in the right direction. To be honest, I've been quite pre-occupied by my UK tax return this week, including the discussions around crypto earnings with my accountant. I will end up paying tax on my crypto earnings for FY2223, and as a result its really making me re-think how to continue without causing me a tax burden headache each year. If I hit all of my targets as planned for this year, it may end up costing me more than I want to pay in tax, so I'll have to figure out how to cover that of, which may end up changing my plan and goals. Its a balancing game, and I just need to figure it out.
My Tribe Token Investment Project
My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account is moving along nicely. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.
I'll undertake my next rebalance later on sunday, or monday, and I'm looking forward to seeing what this week will bring already (the outcome has been different pretty much every week, which has been really interesting so far, because there are so many methods at play). The project is working nicely, although values are still low at the moment, however they should build up over time. Its great to see the various methods of curation, posting, staking and rebalancing all working in tandem. You can check out my latest rebalance post on my @hoosieboy alt account here.
And as a reminder:
- Leo Power Up Day is coming up on the 15th of Jan ( a week on monday).
