It had the head and body of a stag, with massive antlers upon its head, but instead of forelegs, two mighty wings grew from its shoulders. Its coat and feathers were white and shades of purple, and it was the most beautiful creature
Another card that I usually use.
Hello Splinterlands Community!
Welcome to another Share your Battle Weekly Challenge featuring the most beautiful creature non other than Regal Peryton from the Earth Splinter.
For those who are new to my post, I usually post information which is related in the Silver League Modern Format.
They say there is nothing more beautiful than a Regal Peryton. They prefer to live in the mountains all across the Splinterlands, rarely seen by others. When they soar through the skies, the sunlight catches through their wings and creates rainbows underneath them. Regal Perytons are highly intelligent and consider themselves noble guardians of the natural world, using their magic to help others.
🦄 The Stats
Regal Peryton specialized in speed which is very high chance to avoid physical attack.
First thing is that Regal Peryton at a base level already have a 5 speed and a flying ability which is very useful in dodging melee and range attack from a low speed monsters.
In Silver league, Regal Peryton becomes deadlier as the speed and magic damage increases, an increase chance to dodge incoming physical attack. In Gold league, a additional health for durability of Regal Peryton, while Diamond and Champion league further increases the magic and speed.
This card is very usable in different situation. It can be use against sneak opponents, earthquake and odd ones out ruleset. It can also be use against monsters with snipe unit as long as those are range attackers.
Be careful to those monster with Snare and true strike ability as they don't miss an attack to Regal Peryton.
Combo Cards
In terms of summoner, Regal Peryton is pretty good with Obsidian to boost magic damage. Lllama is also okay as long as Peryton will do the last stand to boost up further the speed and I think Mylor is also okay if battling with melee opponents. The melee opponents can either missed the attack or hit but with thorn damage. In Dragon element, Byzantine Kitty due to the +2 speed is the best one to use with as well as Sthispa for the phase ability since Regal Peryton already have a high speed by default.
| Obsidian's additional magic damage is a great boost for Regal Peryton to deal high damage. | |
| There are quite some cases wherein I heard that they are using Llama+Peryton for the last stand boost but I never really see one yet using this in action. | |
| Expecting a magic user opponents? With Sthispa Regal Peryton could become somehow like Djinn Oshannus that could avoid not only physical damage but also with magical damage, thanks to the Phase ability that this card can offer. |
In terms of monsters, I believe that most of the monsters in the Earth's current line-up are okay to have with, I will only list down some monsters that can boost Regal Peryton speed further and tank monsters which are usually in front of Regal Peryton to absorb first the damage while Regal Peryton is doing the attack.
| Even though that Pelacor Mercenary is a rewad card, this card is a very good tank especially when it comes to earthquake ruleset wherein both Pelacor Mercenary and Regal Peryton are unaffected. It can be use as well in odds one out together with Brumble Pixie in the second position followed by Peryton in the third as long as the mana capacity is enough. In higher league, Pelacor Mercenary and Bramble Pixie do have a self heal which will improve their durability in the battle resulting for Regal Peryton to deals overall a lot of magic damage during the match. |
|
| If the mana cost is not enough for example only 12, then a Hill Giant with a mana cost of 3 is a great tank as well. Hill Giant at the frontline followed by Regal Peryton is a good choice for a 12 mana ruleset. It is also applicable in odds one out ruleset. Lychen Beast is also a good option to substitute it with Hill Giant for an additional of 2 mana cost. |
|
| If you are looking for an additional speed boost, Supply Runner could be handy sometimes to increase further the speed of Regal Peryton. This is the only one that could provide this in lower league for modern. |
Favorable Ruleset
There are quite a lot of ruleset that is in favor with Regal Peryton, as mentioned this card is pretty good and very usable.
Below are the list of ruleset that I think the best ruleset suitable with Regal Peryton
| Since I don't have Brighton Bloom in my deck, when the Earthquake ruleset appears I usually look for Regal Peryton together with Pelacor Mercenary and sometimes combined it with Queen Mycelia for additional armor for other non flying units. | |
| Sometimes it is good to go against the ruleset. With the Melee Mayhem ruleset you have a good chance to use magic and Regal Peryton in the frontline can avoid melee attacks because of its high speed and flying ability. Check out the battle link later by avoiding 8 out of 9 melee attack. | |
| Have you seen a enraged Peryton? Its speed is very high that you could think that a melee or range monster could not be able to hit it. If Sthispa is the summoner there is a chance that even magic damage could not hit. | |
| Well, super sneak ruleset is the same with Melee Mayhem where you expect your opponent melee monsters to attack in the rear where a Regal Peryton is waiting to avoid those attack. |
Take note of these ruleset that could affect Regal Peryton.
- Aim True
- Reverse Speed
- Weak Magic
🦄 The Battle and Outcome
I will be changing my format a little for the battle section in this post as I think my two battle is too good to share to showcase the power of Regal Peryton. This post would be too long if I will use my format to explain the 2 battle which I think would become boring if the post becomes very long.
Battle #1 (Super Sneak Ruleset)
Rules of Combat
Modifications: Super Sneak, Holy Protection
Mana Cap: 20
Playable Splinters: Water, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon
In this battle, Regal Peryton is position in the rear position in order to use its high speed and flying ability to avoid sneak attack.
- The summoner is Obsidian which boost magic damage to Regal Peryton and Goblin Psychic.
- Hill Giant is chosen as the tank because of the low mana capacity and this card have a 8 health which is good as a tank.
- Followed by Fungus Fiend that acts as a buffer and it is very important because of the holy protection ruleset.
- In the third position is Goblin Psychic which support Hill Giant due to tank heal.
- Regal Peryton is position at the rear end which is ready in-case of sneak attack while destroying the frontline.
- Acid Shooter in the last position acts as additional damage to remove the holy protection however its position is not a good one because of sneak attack
Watching the battle, the magic reflect is not enough to defeat Regal Peryton and there are a lot of misses from the sneak attack. Regal Peryton keeps on defeating the frontline by dealing a massive of 3 magic damage.
At the end of the battle, Regal Peryton launch the final blow and survive the sneak attack winning the match.
Battle #2 (Melee Mayhem Ruleset)
Rules of Combat
Modifications: Close Range, Melee Mayhem
Mana Cap: 20
Playable Splinters: Fire, Earth, and Dragon
In this battle, Regal Peryton is position in the front position to deal with the melee attack from the frontline.
- The summoner is Obsidian which boost magic damage to all magic units.
- Hill Giant is again chosen as the tank to accommodate enough magic damage
- It is followed by Regal Peryton in order to avoid a lot of melee attack and use its high speed and flying ability as Fire monsters do have a slow speed.
- Goblin Psychic which support the frontline and in-case that Regal Peryton is hit, it can heal the damage.
- Queen Mycelia which adds an armor against melee damage
- Venari Seedsmith since there is a close range and could scavenge a lot of health everytime monsters are defeated
- Djinn Biljka in the last position with the camouflage ability to deal magic damage in the frontline.
Watching the battle, the melee attack only hit 1 out of 9 towards Regal Peryton flexing its supremacy to avoid a lot of phyiscal attack especially coming from non flying low speed melee monsters.
At the end of the battle, Regal Peryton is unharmed in the frontline after defeating the enemies one by one. This shows how powerful Regal Peryton
🦄 Final Thoughts
Regal Peryton in my battle using Earth is almost 70% included in my lineup because of its high speed and flying ability. There are a lot of ruleset that Regal Peryton can be use and overall this card is a pretty good one being a rare rarity.
I am very satisfied with Regal Peryton performance especially in the league that I am playing which gives me a good win rate.
What are your thoughts of Regal Peryton?
