Hello Community! Today, I am excited to share again my second visit to Badian Highlands, and it feels different this time. Can you blame me? I fell in love with this magnificent place because of its cool breeze and stunning panoramic mountain view.
Badian Highlands is in the mountain area of Badian, Cebu, Philippines, along the Dalaguete-Mantalongon-Badian Road at about 1,640 feet above sea level. It is set within a designated “no build zone”, ensuring the landscape remains open and natural without permanent structures. I like the efforts of the locals on how they preserve and protect this place.
This time there are fewer people around and everything feels calm and quiet. I’m with my friends and still the air is fresh and cool and strangely it makes me even more happy and alive. Badian Highlands is a beautiful place located in the heart of nature. It is filled with rolling hills and green fields that make everyone feel relaxed and calm.
The view from the top of the highlands is breathtaking. From its elevated point, you can enjoy the sweeping panoramic views of Badian Bay, the Tanon Strait and on clear days the towering Mount Kanlaon on Negros Island, making it a popular spot for sunrise and sunset photos, stargazing and photography.
A lot of people visit this place for leisurely activities such as walking, jogging and cycling. But as for me, I simply want to enjoy the cooler highland air and its scenic view. This place has truly become my favorite escape. I can sit in this place whole day and just talk about life with my friends, letting my thoughts wander and enjoy the view.
My trip to this place only takes about 30 minutes because it’s just three towns away, and then my friends and I rode a motorcycle. But if you’re in Cebu City, just go to the South bus terminal and ride a bus going to Badian then tell the conductor to drop you off at the town proper then look for a motorcycle and it takes 15 minutes.
As a nature lover, what I truly love about this place is its quiet, unhurried atmosphere. The cool breeze, the greenery scenery and if I’m lucky to witness a glimpse of fog that blankets the hills make it feel like a world set apart from the chaos of everyday life. I can immerse myself in nature and simply breathe. It’s a kind of place where tranquility isn’t loneliness but a
chance to recharge and reflect, where every view feels personal, almost like the highlands were made for people who crave natures gentle embrace and a sanctuary I always want to come back to.
P.S. the lead photo is edited using canva and all photos are mine.
