What happens when a mistake produces something beautiful? What happens when the result blows your mind? Well, guys this was my story yesterday.
I decided to crochet a hairband yesterday. I was super pumped, and it felt like it was super easy, and I could even do it with my eyes closed, but I was wrong.
My hairband turned out looking like everything but the band that I wanted. I discarded it out of disappointment.
While staring at my mistake in the face, I noticed the edges of my work were curling, and I decided to fold all of them together, and guess what, guys? It worked!!! A beautiful flower was born and I’m glad I could salvage the ruins from my project eventually.
To make this beautiful flower I used the following materials and followed the steps below.
Materials
Yarn
Crochet hook
Scissors
Procedure
Step 1:
Make a slip knot, chain 95 (this depends on your type of yarn, hook size, and preference).
Step 2:
Make a half double crochet on the third stitch, repeat the same pattern for all the stitches.
Step 3:
Begin round two by making a chain, turn your work over, and make a half double crochet on the back loop of all your stitches.
Step 4:
Repeat the same pattern for as many rounds as you wish to make. Afterwards, neatly fold all of them together.
Step 5:
Stitch the petals together and make a stem by tying a knot on a stick and wrapping the yarn around the stem neatly from start to finish. Attach your stem to your flower and voila! Your flower is ready!
This was supposed to be a failed project but, things took a different turn and I am so glad.
Do you like my flower? Would you love to make something like this? I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments.
