Yesterday was an eventful day for me, I had so much to do, so much to see and so much fun too!
I visited a movie set yesterday. My friend shot a short movie yesterday, and one of the scenes of the movie was shot at ‘Zone 9’, a popular but dangerous neighborhood that was known for its wild stories and rough past.
Since I was less busy I decided to tag along, and honestly, I was glad that I did.
This scene is about some young men trying to rise above addiction and the hood life, hence the reason it was shot at a place that perfectly reflects the struggle and resilience their story represents.
I was privileged to walk around the movie set. My friend and I arrived early, and he did the setup and checks, and we waited for the rest of the crew members to arrive.
While waiting for them to start filming I decided to walk around the location. I got to see a few places, despite some areas being restricted.
This was one of the props. This mini bar is filled with empty bottles, which create an illusion for a typical mini bar scene.
We walked through some bushy paths as the goal was to create an impression of a forest. I got to see a couple of lands that were still bare, some flowers, power lines and so much more that I was unable to capture.
As we walked around these bushy paths, I couldn’t help but wonder how these weeds are able to grow so well. They aren’t watered or taken care of , yet they look so good and healthy. Nature is truly beautiful, I must say.
After shooting this scene, we headed to the next location. This scene was to be shot inside a church. With the church’s permission, we were allowed to take some shots, and this was done quickly and quietly.
We walked past a school, and I love how clean and serene this school is. It truly is conducive for learning.
I also walked pass a mall and from their decorations, they aren’t over with the customer service week and independent vibes.
The last scene was shot at this beautiful apartment with some cool cars.
While we wrapped up with the shoot, we decided to grab something to eat before we headed home. Eating after a long day hits differently, no matter how small or big the portion is, it always hits differently.
