I went for a marriage ceremony in a rural area and for the first time I had to use a tricycle. It was a great experience, though I would call it a bitter sweet one.

The journey was an hour journey and the road leading to the village was not so good, it was bumpy and a little muddy. I asked the tricycle rider how much he made a day and to my greatest surprise he said $50, to me it was okay because the cost of living in a rural community is relatively cheap.
As we progressed on the journey we stopped at a fruit market and I bought some fruits and it was so cheap and looking fresh. All of a sudden rain started falling and the muddy road was no more motorable we had to park at the road side for the rain to stop. The tricycle had no cover and the rain soaked me and my cloth was so dirty and wet, I felt so cold and I was shivering. I was like is this what these people go through on a daily.
The rain eventually stopped but we had to wait for an hour for the muddy road to dry up a little unless we will be stuck in the mud if we tried moving. I called a friend who was at the venue of the marriage ceremony , she informed me that the marriage ceremony just ended , I looked at my watch and I realized it was already 3 hours I just smiled and told the driver to take me back to the park. I never knew using tricycle was that stressful or risky. Tricycle is a good means of transportation especially for those in the rural it's less risky than using a motorcycle. Though I think the manufacturers of the tricycle can do a better job and improve it's quality and make it a little bit conducive . It is a good source of livelihood for the riders. It helped the farmers to transport their goods to the market easily and faster. The government can also help to build good roads in the rural areas, this will increase the life span of the tricycle and it will not break down easily and also help in getting agricultural products from the rural communities to the urban centers easily.
