Tourism sites will always be on our list while visiting or even just coming through a new place. On my way back from Dieng Highland to Jakarta, we make a stop and visit OW CIBULAN (OW stands for Objek Wisata which is the translation of Tourism Site). This place is located in Kuningan, East Java, and was known as the oldest tourist site in Kuningan which was established on 27 August 1939.

There are several places on this tourist site, such fish pond, a swimming pool, and 7 water springs which are called Tujuh Sumur. I was in a rush at that time, so the only place that was able to be visited was the fish pool. The fish on the pond is called Ikan Dewa (God Fish). Based on the urban legend, these fish is the incarnation of former Prabu Siliwangi troops that turn into rebellion and fought him.

As I have a background in marine science and know a bit about fish species, this story makes me wonder what is the genuine name of this fish. So I found out that these fish come from the genus Tor which is commonly found on Cyprinid fish. Due to its slow growth, these fish were protected by the Ministry of Marine & Fisheries of Republic Indonesia.
