5Days/4Nights in Kota Kinabalu.
What can I say! The experience I've had is beyond any words of description. As I leave this city once again, I'm overwhelmed with the overflowing of memories it has left me with.
Let me share my journey the last 5 days.
Day One
When I arrived at KK Airport, I was greet by Alvin & Angel. Both active Steemians and really kind to me. As everyone was busy with the set up, I stayed away so as not to disrupt anyone. Plus, I have been unwell since 2 days ago. For dinner, it was seafood. Totally Amazing!! Met more Steemians from Sabah ; Daniel, Connie & Ian. Joanne & Aaron was here since Wednesday. 2 of the speakers joined as well.
After dinner was drinks. Not ideal for me as I was on heavy antibiotics. Stayed on to mingle but definitely not my best hospitable level.
Day Two @ D Day!!
After an overdose of antibiotics, body was not totally at the best condition. Still got to UMS in time to see hubby on stage.
I'll admit he does look HOT on stage 😊. Met many other Steemians and Speakers too. The sessions by the Speakers were good. I especially like when the panels are put on stage together. That's where the real debate starts. Thumbs up to the Sabah Team for an event well organized.
Hubby even got to catch up with his old school mates from Labuan.
Of course, there were lots of photo sessions... All the way till dinner at a authentic Sabah restaurant. Alvin introduced the local butod, the local Sago Worm... Imagine Fear Factor!!! We're supposed to eat it while it's still alive and slimy...
Day Three
An arranged trip to Dinawan Island, 30mins out of KK by speedboat. This is a private island as we didn't see any overflow of foreign guests. We spent half the day chilling out with sea sports, laughing and even did a property walk about with the owner, Mr Ong.
By the time we got back to KK, we were all dead tired. Simple Bak Kut Teh dinner with Joanne & Aaron followed by drinks with several of the Steemians.
Day Four
Free & easy for us with lunch catch up with my old collegemate and his family. Then, we went for a site seeing walk around the Filipino Market. Last but not least, dinner with hubby's friends at their favorite diner 20 years ago.
Yeah! The restaurant is still there only that it's a new owner now.
Day Five
Time to go home. Already missing the kids.
Truly enjoyed myself this last 5 days. Will definitely return to KK soon if not for another Steemit event.
