Hello, my dear hivers. This is basically the continuation of my previous blog, during our monthly tree planting program.
In this part, we started walking to the place where we were going to plant. By the way, the people under probation were already carrying sacks, eco-bags, or plastic bags with soil and small plants.
The path we took to get to the place was really a mountain trail. We passed by a cornfield, which was surrounded by moringa and coconut trees. It was really beautiful to look at.
The weather during the journey was not too much sunny at all, and the air felt very refreshing and the fresh air felt so good. We also passed through some guava trees with few fruits. The person walking before me even plucked one and handed it over to her kid. The whole area seemed green in the leaves. What made it great further was the number of us walking. Honestly, it did seem like a mini hike because we walked for probably 15 minutes.
For this activity, the participants had to have white t-shirts. In the case of us interns, though, I told my co-interns, "Luckily, what we’re wearing today is the collared departmental uniform and not the colored plain white one, they then responded, "Yesss, thankfully!"
When we arrived, some people were already there before us. While I was checking their plants, I saw that some people had already finished planting. They had circled their plants with small rocks so that they could be recognized as their own, and also to prevent them from being stepped on.
Later, I realized that some weeds had stuck to my jeans. I was wearing pants that weren't our official OJT intern pants, so it was fine. Even though many weeds stuck to my jeans, it would be easy to remove it later, and thus I preferred to do so when we got back to the highway.
Of course, before heading back, we took some 0.5 shots. Everyone wasn't able to look at the camera because they didn't hear that I was going to take a 0.5 shot, but still...
So, we went back, and I also took pictures of the rocks there. They were not of the normal types you see everywhere, and I was amazed by their color.
We also passed by a beautiful flower with so many flowers. There is also a lovely pink color. The coconut trees there were also beautiful and abundant, growing close together. We finally reached the highway, and the road was no longer full of rocks.
So yes, that is all, my dear hivers! Those were my experiences during our tree planting activity. First of all, I did not honestly expect that we would plant in one place filled with life, so many trees and plants are already growing there. But it made the experience even more special. Being surrounded by nature, the activity felt less like a task and like a moment to appreciate the environment and how much it is really alive.
Thank you for reading!
