Medina Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen [Esp-Eng]

On my trip through Sucre state, visiting my brother and sister-in-law who had moved there for a while, I had the opportunity to see many places that I have mentioned in my previous posts. Places full of color and beauty that I had never seen before. For many years of my life, I only knew the coast of Aragua state, which is where I grew up.

But although the beaches of Aragua are very beautiful, these are different beaches and, therefore, they also have a different beauty. Among the places I visited, my brother dreamed of taking us to see a beautiful beach that he had seen a few months earlier. Although we didn't have much time in our plans to visit it and it was a bit far from where we were staying, we managed to do so at the end of our trip, a couple of days before we left to return home.

En mi viaje por el estado Sucre, visitando a mi hermano y a su cuñada que por un tiempo se fueron a vivir allá, tuve la oportunidad de conocer muchos sitios de los que les he hablado en mis publicaciones anteriores. Sitios llenos de color y con una belleza que antes de ese momento nunca había visto. Durante muchos años de mi vida solo conocía las costas del estado Aragua, que es el estado en el que crecí.

​Pero aunque las playas de Aragua son muy bonitas, estas son playas diferentes y, por lo tanto, también tienen una belleza distinta. Entre los lugares que conocí, mi hermano soñaba con llevarnos a visitar una hermosa playa que él había podido ver pocos meses antes. Aunque en los planes no teníamos tanto tiempo para visitarla y quedaba algo retirada de donde nos estábamos quedando, casi al final de nuestro viaje, un par de días antes de que nos fuéramos de nuevo a nuestra casa, lo logramos.

That's how, after several hours of traveling, leaving at dawn from the house where my brother lived, we managed to visit the beautiful and well-known beach in Sucre state: Playa Medina, a beach whose beauty is incredible. If I could describe it in a single word, I couldn't, but it could easily be the concept of nature. Wherever you looked, there was a variety of nature: fine sand of a beautiful color, leafy trees of all kinds, mountains, and, of course, the sea.

All of this was in the same place. As soon as I passed through the trees and saw this beach for the first time, I was shocked. It was something I had never seen before, especially such a beautiful beach where the waves were not as extreme as the beaches I had known before. The sea did have waves, but they were gentle and did not cause me any fear, so I was able to swim completely calmly.

​Fue así como, después de varias horas de viaje saliendo de madrugada de la casa donde vivía mi hermano, logramos conocer la tan hermosa y muy conocida playa en el estado Sucre: Playa Medina, una playa cuya belleza es increíble. Si pudiera describirla en una sola palabra no podría, pero esta fácilmente podría ser el concepto de naturaleza. Donde volteabas a ver, había variedad de naturaleza, una arena fina y de un hermoso color, árboles frondosos y de todo tipo, montañas y, por supuesto, mar.

​Todo esto estaba en el mismo lugar. Apenas pasé entre los árboles y pude mirar por primera vez esta playa, quedé en shock. Era algo que nunca antes había visto, especialmente una playa tan linda en la que las olas no eran extremas como las playas que había conocido antes. El mar sí tenía olas, pero estas eran suaves y no me causaron ningún tipo de temor, por lo que pude bañarme completamente tranquila.

It was just the five of us, and since we left quite early, there weren't many people there when we arrived. We rented one of the tables that the workers set up on the beach. I liked this because the table isn't just a table with an umbrella and chairs, but, to fit in well with the surroundings, the roof that provides shade isn't just an umbrella, but a set of palm leaves, a kind of churuata or hut.

Since I went with my mom, my brother, my sister-in-law, and my sister-in-law's mom, we didn't take up too much space on the beach, so one table was enough for all of us. The best part was that, since there were few people, everything felt very relaxing and peaceful. I don't think I had ever seen such a quiet beach with so few people before. As I mentioned before, I'm a little afraid of the sea, but in this case, this beach was very safe; there was a large area that wasn't deep, and that's where I swam, so it felt like a pool with waves.

​Solo fuimos nosotros cinco, y como nos fuimos bastante temprano, cuando llegamos no había tanta gente. Alquilamos una de las mesas que colocan los trabajadores en la playa. Esto me gustó porque la mesa no es simplemente una mesa con sombrilla y sillas, sino que, para que combine bien con el lugar, el techo que nos da sombra no es solo una sombrilla, sino un conjunto de hojas de palmera, una especie de churuata o tipo choza.

​Como fui con mi mamá, mi hermano, mi cuñada y la mamá de mi cuñada, tampoco ocupamos demasiado espacio de la playa, por lo que una sola mesa fue suficiente para todos. Lo mejor del caso es que, como había poca gente, todo se sentía demasiado relajante y tranquilo. Creo que antes de ese momento nunca había visto una playa tan tranquila y sin tanta gente. Como les mencioné antes, le tengo algo de miedo al mar, pero en este caso, esta playa era muy segura; había una parte grande que no era profunda y fue donde me bañé, así que me sentía como en una piscina con olas.

To get to know the place well, we paid for a boat tour around Playa Medina. They showed us several caves in the area, told us a little about the ecosystem, and gave us the names of several caves and their origins. It was a tour that lasted at least an hour. When it ended, we stood in the distance for a few minutes, simply looking toward the shore. This part made me a little nervous because when a boat is stationary, you can really feel the movement of the sea.

I loved this beach and haven't found another one like it since. It's the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, not only because of its beauty, but also because I was able to enjoy swimming there, trying to swim badly as I always do, and even learning to float. It was a unique experience that I would really like to repeat. Without a doubt, there are places that completely change the meaning of some things, and for me, this is the meaning of beauty and tranquility.

​Para conocer bien el lugar, pagamos un recorrido en lancha por los alrededores de Playa Medina. Nos mostraron varias cuevas que había alrededor, nos contaron un poco acerca del ecosistema y varios de los nombres de las cuevas y su origen. Fue un recorrido de al menos una hora. Al concluir, nos quedamos unos minutos parados a lo lejos, simplemente mirando hacia la orilla. Esta parte me puso un poco nerviosa porque cuando una lancha está detenida se siente demasiado cómo se mueve el mar.

​Me gustó muchísimo esta playa y no he conocido otra igual desde entonces. Es la playa más bonita que mis ojos han visto personalmente, y no solo por su belleza, sino porque pude disfrutar de bañarme en ella, intentar nadar mal como lo hago siempre y hasta aprender a flotar. Fue una experiencia única y que realmente me gustaría volver a repetir. Sin duda, hay lugares que cambian completamente el significado de algunas cosas, y este para mí es el significado de belleza y tranquilidad.
