Hello my dear friends đ
Last weekend me and my fam drove down to Balingasag, Misamis Oriental just to see my aunt nothing fancy planned or anything. We thought it will be just another usual trip where we eat a tone chat forever then head back home. But wow đŽ we hit the jackpot with a view we never saw coming! We were cruising along the highway kinda sleepy from the drive up the hills..
When suddenly my cousin goes âWHOA look at THAT!â And honestly? I almost fell off my seat. Right there off to the side of the road this hill opens up to the most insane view ever. We did not even think twice pulled over right away grabbed our phones and cameras and just stood there staring.
Turns out this place is called the Balingasag Coastal Viewpoint (though locals just call it âthe lantawanâ which means lookout spot). Itâs right along the main highway not too far from the town center either in Poblacion or near San Roque barangay not sure exactly but itâs hard to miss once you are there.
From up there you can see everything. On one side thereâs all these green hills covered in trees and banana plants looks so lush and alive especially when the wind blows through the leaves. On the other side is the sea and i mean the waterâs so pretty!
Close to shore itâs this light green brown color then it gets deeper and bluer the farther out you look. You can see little fishing boats bobbing around too and some huts down by the beach where the fishermen probably hang out. In the distance thereâs more hills from nearby towns.
Like Jasaan and Tagoloan they looked kinda hazy with mist which made the whole thing feel like a movie scene. The air was so nice too smells like salt and grass way better than the city stuff we are used to breathing. We just stood there for like 20 minutes taking pics, pointing at stuff.
And just going âwowâ every couple seconds. My aunt says sheâs lived here for ages but still stops by sometimes when sheâs passing through. She says nobody charges to go there itâs just a free spot for anyone to enjoy. We did not even know it existed before! We thought Balingasag was just old churches and good food but this made the trip way more fun. We stayed longer chilled on benches then showed my aunt all our photos she laughed and said she could have taken us to more spots like that.
