He blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth. Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, that I will not take a thread nor a sandal strap nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich (Genesis 14: 20, 23 -23)
The first revelation of God's name as the Most High God to Abraham indicates its special meaning and importance. Till now, Abraham had known God as Adonai (meaning, lord or master). Now Abraham encounters a man called Melchizedek, who was the king of Salem, and a priest of the Adonai God, who made this revelation to Abraham. He blessed Abraham in the name of the Most High God. The phrase, the most high God simply means the highest God, with none above him or besides him. And not only that, this highest God is the Possessor of heaven and earth, a phrase which means, this God is the creator, owner and the source of life, power and authority over these spheres. And Melchizedek reminded Abraham that his victory over those conferated kings, led by the notorious king of Elam, Chedorlaomer, came from the Most High God.
Abraham immediately caught the revelation, gave tithe offering to the priest of God after enjoying fellowship of Bread and Wine with the priest of God.
And Abraham moved in the faith and power of that revelation to swore with uplifted hand by the Most High God, who is the Possessor of heaven and earth, not to take or receive any war booty from the king of Sodom, so that after this Highest God has blessed and prosper him, that the king of Sodom would boast and complain that he has made Abraham rich.
Oh that we modern Christians would also catch this revelation of blessing and prosperity. Because we the men of God have changed the order of God's blessing and the people of God have bought into the lie, and the results, no one get blessed or prosper.
The truth is, the God of Abraham, the Possessor of heaven and earth, still has the power in Heaven and on earth to bless and prosper His people. He still owns both spheres of life, and still grants victory and makes people rich, so we don't need to steal, cheat and deceive and loot in the house of God.
Just to remind you, we belong to and serve the Most High God, the Possessor of heaven and earth. If He could grant victory to Abraham over his enemies, and riches to him for him to give tithes and offering to the priest of God, who brought to him such a profound revelation and fellowship, and Abraham, moving in the power of that revelation went from faith to faith, and glory to glory, then you and I, who are the children of Abraham through Christ Jesus the Lord, need not to fear, because we are connected to the Possessor of heaven and earth. You are on the blessing, prosperity and riches line through Christ Jesus.
And I pray that you may receive the revelation of God this week, that would manifest your riches, prosperity, victory, breakhrough and blessing in Jesus name. May such empowering people of God, such fellowship of the faith, and such knowledge of the truth be made available to you in Jesus precious name. Amen
The order of Melchizedek revelation and blessing is not broken yet, it still flow through the appointed and anointed people of God.
