The adder's venom lies intricately,
patiently slithering sweetly,
the galilean horns moos in warning,
the sun's embers are smouldering
the mountain's spittle is rearing to puke
but the ears are hibernating,
traveling through the plains of banality
opaqued by ignorance
woe betides the threshold.
A bazooka is poised to soar,
tentatively unwilling to roar
the heart of men is merry,
while the bushel is burning
spilled schnapps on the conscience,
bodies piled in a stinking rack,
the bell tolls menacing, sprinkling fear,
the dawn is come by daylight
and men trembles not in fright
woe sweetly betides
Sweetly flying is doom
a beautiful reflexes into nonentity,
the sea sides roars hidden messages,
fishes with horns in gill places,
moonlight at hollow grounds,
owls at space hooting in foreshadowings,
the knight of darkness,
is rearing to ride the tide,
Woe betides the children of carnality.
Woe betides and tragic tidings
are abiding the tree trunks and boughs
the eyes will see,
but the mind will be smeared in darkness,
abject blackness, yet the stars will speak
speak with terrifying twinkles,
of an hour where the heart will tremble,
and the molten magma will rumble,
Woe betides, in the offing too
POETIC NOTES & ANALYSIS
Woe betides speaks about the warnings of the end of days, it signals the coming of a specific hour of which the happenings and details of this hour is unknown and unforeseen. The poem describes this hour as unpredictable and even unaccounted for as a result he describes nature and all it's characteristic ringing warnings by showing signs using absurd images, strange happenings like fishes with horn also sunset at dusk
The poet believes the occurrences are already in place, already in position and taking place, however he explains the fact that mankind are blind to these occurrences, despite the uses of technology and science which brings total light to mysteries and darkness, however they're so sighted that they've become too blind to see these occurrences.
In earnest the poem believes this banality makes it difficult to even head nature's warnings on this events that will actually happening at designated times unawares. He believes mankind is heading for a certain stage of extinction and the signs and wonders are there to prove this. The poem points out that it will be a sudden tragedy that will be able to be contained. Howbeit man remains blind to these signs that brings warning about this tragic event that seems inevitable.
