Parenting is fun until you pamper your children so much and even to the point that you forget to teach them morals. The reason why the society is filled with men and women who have terrible characters is just because their parents failed in their duties of bringing up their children in the way that they would not bring shame and disgrace to them(parents).
The story
So I went to visit a long time friend who just put to bed. I didn't feel like going anywhere today but somehow I decided to just visit. I got there and stayed for an hour+. I suddenly started feeling somehow. I noticed that my undies were damp. I rushed to her bathroom to check myself and lo and behold, my monthly visitor was here. Wrong time to come but what can I do?. She offered to give me some sanitary pads and a brand new undies. Luckily she has a washing machine. So I threw in the undies to wash and dry and then iron it before I put it on.
While I went to the visitor's bathroom to clean myself up, I heard a noise. Initially I thought it was her neighbors children who were playing just outside. I ignored and continued cleaning myself up. I turned to look at the door and saw someone peeping. My eyes popped out. I screamed and dragged the wrapper she gave me to cover myself. I ran out and went straight to complain to my friend what I saw. She apologized and told me it was her son.
Apparently, her son who is thirteen years old have formed a habit of peeping at people having their bath.
She told me how she has been trying to stop him but to no avail. At that point, I was angry and if I had my way, I would have spanked the hell out of him. How dare he peep me? A child for that matter. I blamed her for all of this. Because when she discovered it at first, she didn't do anything to him. She didn't caution him. She overlooked the whole thing and now the boy has become so use to it.
Before I left, I had a heart to heart conversation with him. He opened up and confided in me details of what he has been going through. His nanny has been molesting him right under his parent's nose and they didn't even know. Immediately, I called his nanny in front of my friend and she begged for forgiveness. I requested to call the police immediately. She got arrested in few minutes and would face the law for abusing a child.
This is an emotional torture for that boy which will be there for the rest of his life. I also talked to my friend of the need to be close to her child. If she was very observant, she would have seen a lot of things and helped that child get over this horrible stage.
I hope parents understand that parenting is a big responsibility. If you become careless and don't put an eye on your children, you may just be dead because of high blood pressure. As a parent, you cannot be too busy to look after your children. If you can, install a CCTV camera to help you have an eye on what is happening in your house. The world is evil and you cannot afford to be carefree.
