HIVE Open Mic Week 5 - The Rare Old Mountain Dew

Hey Folks

So the theme of this weeks open mic had me stumped for a minute.....

The theme is Hum...

So Im staring at the humming bird image thinking what I can play and this pops into my head ....

Its the chorus from an old Irish drinking song called The Rare Old Mountain Dew. I guess its the closest thing I have to a song with humming in it.

A lot of these old Irish songs have these ornamented choruses like this that come from the traditional way of singing.The term for it is Sean-nós.I guess you can look at it as a sort of ornamented style of humming that would normally be done unaccompanied.
