The Internet
Hello bees hope you're doing well. Well I'm fine thankfully. I want to share with you a common topic we may all have heard of, It's the Internet. Alright lets get into it.
Introduction
The concept of the internet was birthed of the need of communication between computers then. In the early days of the computer systems, files could not be shared easily between computers as they were big, very big and one had to travel long distances in order to transfer info from one computer to another. Then the early researchers deviced a means through which computers could communicate to one another, and then we had the internet from there onwards. This was in the 1960's. And since then we've seen the evolution of this internet to what it is now.
Effects of the internet.
Every single thing invented in this world has an impact, be it positive or negative, and so does the internet too. The usefulness of the internet cannot be overemphasized, so here are a few of the good side of the internet;
Connectivity
Well this has to be the obvious, considering the fact that it was invented at first to connect computers together, it connects computers as well as people together. Imagine a group of friends, very close friends who had to travel afar from each other because of circumstances, but still want to keep in touch with one another, well the internet will be of great help and it'll make it seem as though they were close to one another and therefore the relationship is still maintained.
Access to Information
The internet has made relatively easy to access any information you want or wish to pass across to others and its cheaper too. It the days of old, people either sent ravens with scrolls of info. from one place to another which may take days or never even get to the desired destination or you had to go to a library to read from their books. But with the internet, you can acces all these info from the comfort of your house with your device, easy right.
Creating Communities
This has to do with connecting people of like mind together on a platform. For example, Steemit is a community built to bring people together and inform them as well as to also reward them on the information they also provide on the steemit platform. This gives one the feeling of inclusiveness. We may not all know one another personally here, but we're are connected by a common goal.
Boost to Businesses
This goes in two ways, you as a consumer and as a producer. Take online advertising as an example, it enables one to get his goods to a larger audience then think of online stores like Amazon that's mostly based on the internet. You can buy any item you want from the comfort of your house and they'll get it delivered to your home, they also support some other smaller businesses too that dont have all the necessary utilities for their businesses, so they just rent them, cheaper. This takes trading to a while new level and we've not seen the best yet.
Fun and Entertainment
There are a lot of entertainment and fun contents on the internet, from videos to games. There's also social media like FB and Instagram where we get have some fun too. It's a rather convenient way to get entertained while passing time.
Education
The educational system has improved greatly with the help of the internet. Scholars from different locations get to rub minds together and share knowledge amongst themselves. Teacher and students alike get help from the internet. A lot of educative contents are uploaded on the internet daily all you have to do is to choose which you want.
