If you ever come to Northern Crete, you must visit this area.
Especially during summer months, it has some of the best sunsets .. in a few weeks time, we will watch the sun dropping directly in the sea.
This post will start from the end, and what a beautiful ending of the day it was! The weather was really cold, the waves would come to get you if you were on the street.
Still, I saw several people walking.
And those two biking.
I heard a strange noise and I saw these two riding their bikes together.
I wondered if it would be wrong to shoot them, but their faces do not appear so I guess its ok.
I smiled at them when they passed, hoping that they would not understand I was about to take their photos.
The dad was so protective towards the child, it literally melt my heart.
It was so cloudy that I really did not notice the empty linear spot, so when I was returning, I saw the sun slowly showing its round, red face.
I thought to myself that I had not time to return to my own village, so as I was walking to go to my car, I decided to take it slow so that I would enjoy this as much as possible.
The sun came down, closer to the ground.
I saw this as a good opportunity to create some shots for the assignment we had today.
I tried to share what I was seeing. It was not easy. The colors were not easy to replicate, and imagine the smell of the waves and the sound of them all together.
Nature was partying, few people were outside and it all seemed so surreal!
I decided to wait until the sun disappeared. It would be dark soon and I was a bit afraid to be outside and alone in the dark.
Before leaving, I tried to get a reflection on the windows.
My car was just two steps away...
Rewinding to before...
Let me show you some of my previous and pre-sunet shots.
I dont think that I would walk that spot with so many waves around me.
But this person (I think it is a lady) went all the way..
When I was returning, I noticed a white chair. I felt envy for the person who would have nothing to do, but sit there and enjoy what is around them...
At that point, it was a bit dangerous to stay close to the waves. You never knew if they would come to hurt you, or to take you with them.
I call it a miracle that I am still alive and hear with you!
After the wave.. Dont you just love how the water is resting and slipping again through the ocean?
In this photo, the cat caught my eye, and also wanted to show you around. A few of the hotels in the area are open, I think it would be fun to share some of them in a future post!
Another big wave and lets move on
This photo is where I parked my car at.. And I wanted to mark my opening scene.
Here a pair of two different days.
Windy, cold and cloudy - vs cloudy, cold and rainy
I took these photos from the car, from a window, where the rain would fall don on it. I would normally hate and toss them away, but as I see them again, I kind of like them.
I think that my next photo posts will be summer posts ...
What season do you prefer? Let me know below!
Thanks for visiting!
