Easter Sunday is usually a time for family. We have egg hunting, games, and music celebration in our town. But this time, our family wants it differently.
After several days of strong winds and we made the most of the beautiful weather. Taking advantage of the beautiful clear skies and we decided to go for an outdoor adventure. We packed our bags with food and water and put on our hiking shoes.
And we went to the cuha-völgy in Hungary for another hiking nature adventure.
The weather that morning was perfect for any outdoor activities. We started our journey at 10 in the morning. We're on the
Monostor bridge, driving to Hungary.
The weather was perfect, the deep blue sky wide with just a few clouds. When we got there, the parking area was busy- lots of hikers were getting ready too.
The small village gather for Easter Celebration. Ferris wheel and carousel in the big lots. Families gather together for an Easter Egg Hunting. Aside from that, ice cream shops and buffets are open for the celebration.
Our bags were ready and started our hiking adventure. The fresh forest air immediately welcomed us. It was refreshing and calm- exactly what we needed after days of crazy winds. It was a place where we could relax and enjoy simple moments together.
We reached a small stream and the water sparkled under the sunlight . It was the first small stream and more to come as our trail will be more challenging.
We continued our walk, and the kids and I chose to cross the stream on a big fallen tree. And my husband just carefully stepped on stones to cross the water.
As we walked through the valley, the water was so crystal clear and we fully appreciate the beauty of nature. Tall trees surrounded us that made the area feel calm and relaxing.
What I loved most about Cuha Valley was its stunning natural surroundings. And the towering rock formations added a breathtaking view to the landscape. Some visitors were not just to hike but also to climb. We saw kids challenge themselves by climbing the steep rock walk. It was really an adventure.
Our experience was even more relaxing and the air felt cool and refreshing.
The place was made even more unique because of the railway and its tunnel. To reach the railway, we need to climb the stairs. After seeing the tunnel, we went down stairs and we were lucky to see the train pass over the tunnels above and added a special charm in the place
The old stone bridge arched and human engineering felt nature blended on it together.
It was easy to follow the trail, with the wooden paths, marked routes and the water stream guiding us along the way.
Along the way, we discovered small caves that added to the adventure. And one of the highlights was the Kőpince Cave. Its natural rock openings added a unique charm to the hike. Every adventure we have becomes a chance to discover new places as a family. Hiking gives us a quality time that brings us closer- we talk, laugh and enjoy each other's company. Another memories added to our lists this year.
What I love most about the places like Cuha Valley is the sound of water, tall trees and the cool fresh wind.
The quiet place that makes you slow down and just breathe. The most important thing is to feel grateful that my kids discover the rocks, streams and tunnels.
Holidays don't need to be grand. And sometimes the simplest days become the most meaningful ones. We skipped the egg hunt and our Easter hike turned into a family memories we'll keep FOREVER.
We went on our own adventure and discovered the beautiful nature. And Cuha Valley is definitely worth exploring.
