Fortified Monastery in Bzovík was our next destination. It's a peaceful countryside that I want to escape from the city is in Bzovík, Central Slovakia.
It's a peaceful village with no crowded people and cars. The place was calm and let the nature proves how I can easily embraced the place. All I can hear are the beautiful songs of the birds chirping, fresh air and green surrounding.
Approaching the area, I saw the towering stone walls and It's like centuries old ruins. My husband says its from the Monk.
When we are going inside I know that the place is rich in history. And some parts of the place were renovated to preserve the beauty and history for the next generation.
The Bzovík fortified monastery, was originally built in the 12th century as a Benedictine abbey, a Roman Catholic monastic community. Right now there is ongoing renovation. Parts of the stairs and walls to bring back the strength and beauty of the fortress.
That's the time we visit on the weekend. So we can explore the area. Just precautions were needed to the off limits. For the safety of the visitors coz it is under renovation.
We walked along the walls, checked the window and saw the beautiful surroundings of the area. It was like a canvas of painting and breathtaking. The scenery was always calm, open fields with houses and wonderful places for nature. The peaceful countryside and the perfect weather, we can enjoy the moment of walking. Just slow down the moment because of the amazing view. For course, I took the chance to take more photos.
The place is not crowded and it offers both nature trips and history. I know they want to preserve the place to attract more visitors and reopen it for school trips. Every stone and wall represents the past and present history of the monastery.
Hope soon, we will come back again to check the fully renovated monastery.
My husband is a history enthusiast. He wants us to know more about history and geography. And if you like history and to travel, don't forget to visit the Monastery. This is one of Slovakia’s historical gems in Bzovík.
That's the end of our second surprise and adventure trip planned by my husband. Catch up for our next adventure.
Can't wait to share it with you our next trip. It's in Stará Hora.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
