After our island trip to the calm and quiet of Black Island and now we were ready for something different. Our next adventure is in Calauit Safari Park. Coron, Palawan is not only for its beautiful beaches and lagoons. The other side of the island is Safari. We continued our boat trip with blue skies and a sunny day. It's going to be a hot day. It's a family adventure we've been looking for, especially were so excited to see the animals and there is a feeding of giraffes.
Going to Calauit Safari was a bumpy wave. Just enjoying the wavy boat ride. The further we went its more of peaceful vibe. The nature around us makes it more sceneric and the sound of the motor pumpboat is the sound of my ears. When I finally saw the place I was happy and others too. There is an entrance fee needed to pay. The staff greeted us and were waiting for a car for our transpo. While waiting we walked around the place and took photos.
According to Wikipedia: The park is located in Calauit Island, a 3,700-hectare (9,100-acre) island in the Calamian Islands chain that lies off the coast of Palawan in the Mimaropa region. Calauit Safari Park is a wildlife sanctuary in the Philippines which was originally created in 1976 as a game reserve featuring large African mammals, translocated there under the orders of President Ferdinand Marcos during his 21-year rule of the country.

Our transpo is ready. It's an open vehicle and our tour guide gave us information about the Safari. It's really a hot weather and I’m sweating. The place is wide open so the giraffes and zebras have their freedom around the place. Even its hot, we still enjoy watching the animals roaming freely.
We couldn’t believe seeing zebras and giraffes walking around us. Feeding the giraffes is the best part. The staff prepared branches of leaves and the giraffes started to walk right to us. They're tall and gentle. At first Aya got scared, when the giraffe walked up to her and ate the leaves. Because the giraffe will eat her hand. My husband and Aya are together feeding the giraffe. Talk to our little one, just don't be scared and check if the branch is small and put it down. There is a tendency for the giraffe to think that Aya's hand is food too. Eventually she knew her way to feed the giraffes. And she laughs when the giraffe tongue licks her hand. She get screamed and mama the giraffe lick my hand . She gently touches and feeds the giraffe-that's the unforgettable part and additional memory core of her childhood. And even me too I'm so happy seeing giraffes and zebras.
There are also other animals in the safari. Like African Antelopes, Calamian Deer, Bearcats or Binturongs, Philippine Crocodiles, and porcupines, monkeys, and a variety of reptiles.
After feeding the giraffes, we take our break and stay hydrated. It's really hot and kids are enjoying the swing. The place is not crowded and we could take our time to enjoy our safari experience.
Our tour guide called us and said we should go home. We need to travel by boat to the main Coron island and by van drop off in our hotel. When we were at the boat the kids were starting to get tired. Aya fell asleep in my lap. The heat was so intense but it was a wonderful day for us. Its night already when we returned to our hotel. Quickly pets all our things in our room then have our dinner.
Our Calauit Safari Trip was one of the unique experiences we have in Coron Island. It's really something special seeing up close to the animals. Its remind me of how beautiful and wonderful our world is. And we were so lucky to experience and explore the island with my family.
This ends our Safari Trip. Stay tuned for more family adventures. It's the next part of our Palawan adventure. More island hopping in my next post.
