Last summer season when we decided to go on a family hiking trip to Burda. In Burda is the smallest mountain range in Slovakia. For tourist who wants to practice hiking, its good for a start.
When we arrived to the place, my husband parked his car. Then we start our trail going to up. The sun was high and Aya wanted to pause even though it had not yet started. She wanted to sit for a few minutes and then we started our trail.
There are trail signs that we need to follow. In the wooden signboard, which read Náučný chodník* (educational trail) – Národná prírodná rezervácia Burdov,” was located at the entrance to the trail. It was surrounded by thick bushes and trees. The signboard explained that we were entering a protected nature. And it's known as an ecosystem. It's the sign of the start of our trail. Good thing was the signboard has three languages of information: Slovakian, Hungarian and English.
I asked Aya that I will captured a photo beside the signboard. And were ready for adventure. Honestly her hiking shoes she doesn't like the color pink. But she didn't have a choice because when they went hiking for a school outing her old shoes were already small. But still it's good for her.
That time it was summer last July 2024. The trail was easy to follow and dry. Birds chirping and it's a soundtrack for our hiking adventure. Every signboard we stopped and Aya struck a pose . We continued to walked and the trail led up uphill. Aya knows to followed the trail. She doesn't even complain even when the sun shines so brightly. Its training for her because we have a trip to Slovak Paradise. I will post my blog soon.
Fast forward: We were on the viewpoint. Overlooking view of Danube River. It was a breathtaking and absolutely stunning view. It was a perfect landscape surrounded by forests, vineyards and riverside towns across the water. We rested on the view point and ate our snack prepared by my husband. And never forget taking photos to capture the moment.
Hiking has always been more than exercise. Aside from that, we have a chance to connect with nature and see the surroundings around us. It was a meaningful experience, especially Aya understood the trail. It's time to go home and we were happy seeing the breathtaking view, fresh air and calm atmosphere. It's uforgettable family moments together.
Our adventure reminded us that the best therapy is nature. Its always there waiting for us. And this time we enjoyed our company together. No gadgets for Aya to play Roblox and no destruction. We connect with our nature. It was full of joy.
