One time, you see someone asking for advice. After getting a mouthful of advice from people, the person will then have to deal with the challenge of picking some and overlooking some to make the best possible decision.
That's a bit of a hassle, but it's a natural approach since we all believe that two good heads are better than one. That perception is what pushes us to seek advice whenever we want to make important/dicey decisions. Of course, people will say what they have to say whenever you meet them, but that's where their role ends. Acting upon the advice and facing the aftermath of any decision made will always be the responsibility of the person seeking advice.
That's why in some situations, people choose to consult professionals in a particular field to serve as advisors. That helps to strengthen their resolve while making decisions. But, let's not forget that things can still go wrong even after getting advice from professionals.
Yeah, they can help to an extent, but it doesn't completely get rid of the challenge attached to selecting what to act upon. In all, we all have to choose and I can assure you that people would always choose to take the advice they see as 'good advice'. Anything short of that - in their opinion - will be overlooked.
How do we know what to take as good advice?
This question has to be asked and it's a dicey one to answer with a straight face especially when you are the one faced with the responsibility of acting upon a list of advice. Let's give it a try;
The simplest way to identify if any advice is worth taking or not is to act upon it and look forward to the result. If the result is in line with desired expectations, we call it good advice. If it failed to generate the desired result, then it's bad advice.
Does it sound like something you would like to try?
I call it a trial and error method, but you and I know that it's not a feasible thing to do. Not with the limited resources time at our disposal. We don't have the luxury to act upon ALL advice and then wait for the result. It will only open the path to too many mistakes.
When faced with the same question, some say that they know what to take as good advice based on intuition. That's to say that they just feel it's good advice. To some people, it's more about who is giving the advice. If it's from someone they respect, they take it as good advice. The list goes on...
For me, I take good advice anywhere I can find them, but before you ask how I know what to take as good advice, permit me to throw the question to you.
