Most people agree that most AI music is just AI slop. But then again, different folks enjoy different songs.
As for me, I would say much more than 90 percent of AI music I have heard in the last few years was not very good. Its rare to find an AI song I think is somewhat good, so when I find one I may just share it.
Today I found this video recommended to me by YouTube, titled
The Existential Dreadniks - The Fortune Teller Lied | Late 60s Psychedelia
Hmmm, I like Late 60s Psychedelia! OK fine, I'll play it in the background while I'm working in another browser tab.
I hear some cool organ music to start to show and set the mood. I like organ music!
The pace was slow and kind of gloomy. Maybe like Vanilla Fudge. I like them!
Then came the vocals. Not much notable at the beginning. Decent tone and it fit the music. Lyrics, well, maybe its a reply song to The Fortune Teller which is a very early Rolling Stones tune that a lot of mid 60s bands covered. I'm not really here for the lyrics anyway, I'm more interested in where the music is going.
The song continued to build nicely. The music was fairly well done. The "vocalist" got progressively louder, which I like. Nearly shouting towards the end.
So this is an okay kind of song if you like this genre like I do. Of course you may disagree! "There's no accounting for taste." People like what they like, and dislike in the same unique way.
Here it is. Anyone have an opinion on this song?
So this is from a fictional (I presume) band called The Existential Dreadniks and that is their YouTube channel name as well. They have 1K subscribers. One of them is me.
I would say that the AI used for this track was trained on many similar 60s songs, but maybe these two in particular?
Whiter Share of Pale by Procol Harum
This is a promo video for the song from 1967. It looks a little like a Beatles movie. I think many people know this song. This video has 61 MILLION Views!
You Showed Me by The Turtles
I really hear this song in the AI tune I posted up top. This one is also from around 1967 I think. You might know this one too. The video has 1.5 Million Views.
My Activity
for this Sunday was mostly family obligations again. Lots keeping me busy.
But I did get out for a walk. It was raining all day, and even drizzling a bit still, when I usually go out on the streets. The ski jacket kept me warm and dry. The walk bumped me up to about 8 and a half K steps. Not too bad.
Have A Wonderful Week Ahead!
