Introduction:
Hello everyone! This is the first ever guide that I've created for a series of guides that would counter meta decks often used in the bronze or silver league. I plan to cover all the splinters as much as I can while I test out these counters that are not only effective against the meta but are also very cheap to rent making it viable for old or new players!
Let's Start!
Are you one of those players who gets demolished by Llama-Kron spammers during the beginning of a season?
Are you one of those who wants to try Llama-Kron but just can't snipe good rental rates for these cards?
Do you want to find a counter that's not only effective but also VERY cheap to rent?
Look no further, my guide is here!
Llama-Kron Abilities and Lineup Requirements:
There are several factors to take note before you can make an effective counter against Llama-Kron
Heal - This ability heals 1/3 of the card's total health rounded down.
Last Stand - This ability increases the card's stats by a multiplier of 1.50x rounded up. (When paired with Heal, Kron will heal 6 health per round at level 1 or 2)
To counter his 6 HP heal, it is necessary that our lineup should deal at least 7 damage per round with a 17 mana cost.
What cards do we use for the Lineup?
NOTE: You don't need to use the same level of cards as I did since these cards at level 1 would still be able to deal 7 damage per round.
Card Abilities Explained:
VOID ARMOR Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health. (This is crucial to tank Kron's attacks since magic won't be able to pierce your card's armor if it has this ability)
REPAIR Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage. (Repair still works even if there is a no-heal ruleset)
OPPORTUNITY Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
SNEAK Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
Rulesets to Avoid:
EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY All Monsters have the Blast ability. (Blast enables a card's attack to deal reduced damage to the cards beside the attacked card. This would put you at a disadvantage because Kron will be able to hit the card next to your Venari Heatsmith.)
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY All Monsters have the Opportunity ability. (Kron will attack either your level 1 Scavo Hireling or Battering Ram first)
SILENCED SUMMONERS Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities. (Tarsa's buff to melee damage is essential to reach the 7 damage minimum)
BACK TO BASICS Monsters lose all abilities. (Your melee cards won't be able to attack in the backline if they lose their abilities, Void Armor is rendered useless, and Scavo won't repair Heatsmith's armor)
TARGET PRACTICE All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability. (With this ruleset, Kron will prioritize attacking your Hireling)
NOXIOUS FUMES All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. (Your cards will take 2 poison damage per turn, they won't last more than 2 rounds)
TAKING SIDES Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles. (You won't be able to use your Scavo Hireling and Battering Ram)
UNPROTECTED Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs. (Without armor, Venari Heatsmith would die immediately)
EARTHQUAKE Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. (This is similar to the poison ruleset except that it chips away armor first)
FOG OF WAR Monsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities. (Kobold Miner will lose his ability to attack. This does not affect Opportunity though)
Conclusion:
Thanks for taking the time to read this guide! I hope that you have learned a few lessons that might help you in your Splinterlands Career. I will continue to create guides to counter meta lineups using relatively cheap to rent cards to help players who are struggling to raise their rating. Good luck and may the RNG Gods be always on your side!
