Greetings everyone!
Hope your weekend was as relaxing as mine?
First of all, this post is not meant to talk down on the Christian religion in Nigeria. My hand is itchy and I feel like typing. So if you're the type that doesn't like seeing the wrongs in what's happening in our most popular religion, please feel free to skip this post. Thank you!
So, last week, a church opened on our street. The building is an uncompleted house which the church rented. At first, I thought it was a church that had existed somewhere else before, but no, it is entirely a new church.
It was just last week, and you need to see how people have been trooping to the church for fellowship. Ever since the church started, our street has been flooded with people going to and fro.
Guess what? Miracles have been happening there rampantly. People go there and get their problems solved instantly. The sick ones automatically get healed, those suffering from financial hardship have begun to see signs of financial ease, and many others are also testifying.
My neighbour has been planning to go because he needs deliverance too
And from what's trending, they said before you get to meet the pastor for prayers or anything, one must pay a good sum of money. Not only that, offerings are collected frequently during services, and people are just willing to give and pay all those fees. Yes, as long as people are seeing the results, they do not mind emptying their bank accounts to get what they need.
I have been thinking, maybe I should go and open a church too. Maybe I should make that my main hustle while I convert all the other things I have been doing into side hustles.đ
Guess what again? The clergymanâor let me say clergyboyâis just within the age of 24 to 27 years. Yes, he looks so young; he shouldnât be up to 30 years old, and he is already making waves. I must give kudos to where he got the idea and the boldness he used to take such a step. With this, he doesn't need to look for a job anymore in a tough country like Nigeria. In fact, he just did what is being encouraged in Nigeria nowadays, where the young ones are not encouraged to seek employment but rather to become entrepreneurs. Isn't this an act of entrepreneurship?
I'm not judging him, noâbecause in Nigeria, running a church is one of the most lucrative businesses massively rocking the economic world. You'll hardly open a church on a street today and not get members. No! Once a church is opened on a street, there are people who will definitely leave their old church for different reasons to give the new one a shot. And the more people a church has, the more finances it generates. It becomes even more booming when the clergyman spices up the activity in the church with a little abracadabra that results in miracle performances. That will pull in the crowd and even attract the rich to the church, who will donate big money just to get the god behind the abracadabra to answer their prayers.
Mehn, the way I look at it, I might get into this church business one day. After all, I have many suits(clothes) and I know the Bible very well too. I'll just....(let me not complete that)
Thanks reading.
