As every Wednesday morning, I drove to work around 10 AM, then hit the beach for half an hour and returned home around 11 to get down to my remote work stuff. Around noon, my phone rang. It was
telling me she had a day off tomorrow and asking if I was down for a one-night camping adventure at Lefkada!
At first, I wasn’t feeling it. I had a ton of things to finish and only 6 hours left until her shift ended. But after thinking about it for a bit, I realized most of my tasks could wait for the weekend. So I called her back and said yes.
And just like that, the plan was ON 🌊
We were going to spend the night at Pefkoulia Beach, enjoy the sunset and sleep under the sound of crashing waves (and mosquitoes 😆).
I packed the car with the essentials, picked up around 6:30 PM, and one hour later we were there! Since we had already visited Pefkoulia 2 weeks ago, we knew the trail, how long it takes, and how much stuff we needed.

EPIC camping spot & Lefkada Sunsets 🏕️
This time, campers had doubled! All the cheat forest spots at the beginning of the beach were already taken. We walked a couple more minutes and BOOM! We found the perfect place to camp! Natural shade, smooth surface and an epic view.
We were both all sweaty after walking in the beach and lifting the tent, so we went down to the beach, swimmed at the torquise Pefkoulia waters and watched the sun getting lost in the horizon! Never gets old!
Dinner at Saint Nikitas Village 🍽️
It was around 9:00 PM when our stomachs started complaining so we decided to go grab something to eat at Saint Nikitas, a village located just a 5-minutes drive from Pefkoulia beach! We returned to our tent to get ready for a night out, and the view was breathtaking!
Tripadvisor helped us find a solid restaurant, but when we got there, it was packed. We weren’t about to wait an hour for a table, so we walked around the village looking for an alternative.
was in the mood to eat seafood rissoto, and in most restaurants they fail to cook this dish right! After checking a bunch of menus and peeking at people’s plates, we found one that fullfilled both our needs (I'm a simple man, I need meat haha), and enjoyed a delicious dinner!
Side Dish: Toasted bruschetta with veggies and anchovies
Rating: 6.5/10
My Main Dish: Beef burger patty with potatoes
Rating: 7/10
's Main Dish: Seafood Rissotto
Rating: 8.5/10
We were both feeling tired after eating, so we headed back to the beach, made it to our campsite and called it a day around 11:30 PM.
Beach Coffee & Krioneri Beach
I woke up around 6:45 AM the next day feeling super refreshed and full of energy! Sleeping in nature just hits different! This was my view!
@Illusivelf was still sleeping and didn't wanna wake her up that early, so I drove to Saint Nikitas for some coffee and guess what?!? Everything was closed 🤣
No biggie though. I walked to the beach, chatted with two lovely Greek grandmas ("yiayiades") and and pet a stray cat who ran to me for cuddles!

She loved to pose hehe
After completing my "grab-coffee" main quest, I drove back to Pefkoulia, parked the car and followed the trail to the beach!
was waiting for me there, and we relaxed for an hour enjoying the silence! The beach was completely empty and it was the perfect timing for a panoramic photo!
After that it was time to pack our stuff and head to Krioneri, our new favorite beach in Lefkada city! 20 minutes later, we were there. Found parking right next to the trail, followed it, and five minutes later, arrived at this tiny hidden gem only locals and tourists who did their "homework" know about.

Even though the beach is tiny, we found a dope shady spot to chill! Spent a solid 3 hours swimming in the cold waters, sunbathing, and chatting with two lovely islander ladies who offered us cookies hehe. Beach chats are so much fun!
Our spot for the day
We didn't want to leave but reality was calling... Around 1:30 PM, we packed our stuff and took the trail back to the car! As always, when we reached at the top, we took a moment to admire the turquoise Ionian sea!
Agios Ioannis beach, located right next to Krioneri
We made it home around 2:30 PM (yep, it’s that close), showered, had lunch, and got back to the daily grind. Even though our trip lasted less than 24 hours, it was more than enough to clear our minds and recharge.
Even though our adventure lasted less than 24h, it was enough to empty our minds and recharge! Feeling super blessed to live so close to a paradise like Lefkada island!
