It's the second day of the New Year and I've spent the most part of today thinking and planning my activities for the year. I've thought about the plans for my life in general, and then particularly about my craft.
Last year, I dwelt on working towards promoting my photography brand, and widening my audience reach. For that to happen, I had to become more of a businessman, and sold photography as a commodity in exchange for money. It was necessary to do that. A hungry artist can't create 😁. By the end of the year, I think my decision paid off.
This year, I feel I'll indulge more in personal projects for my satisfaction(and that of my audience). It doesn't mean I won't push my brand as a business though. I think I'll find a balance to push everything simultaneously.
Towards the end of the year, I worked on a mini project. A test shoot as we'd call it. I had met Marvis on Instagram and I thought she'd make a good model. So I reached out to photograph her, and she obliged.
We initially planned to create beauty portraits that accentuated her afro hair, but we switched up a bit and worked other looks. Here's Marvis(Ami Bekee) looking like a modern 70's woman.
