Un pequeño camión de carga

Este tipo de publicaciones son las que ayudan al sistema. Hoy conocí esta comunidad, la cual me parece muy interesante debido a los temas que se pueden abordar en el transcurso del mes. Hoy es mi primera vez y me cayó como anillo al dedo, desde hace mucho tiempo quería escribir sobre el tema de tecnología pero no sabía cómo entrarle. Ahora bien, no soy un experto tecnológico pero creo que nos podemos sorprender con la genialidad del hombre para adaptar cosas y convertirlas en otras cosas y eso para mí es tecnología.

Hoy, miércoles, la propuesta es sobre "La tecnología" y mi tema le puse Tecnología rural. Uno se puede sorprender la forma como podemos encontrar tecnología en lugares muy apartados donde la precariedad de los recursos son limitados y a pesar de eso salen cosas grandiosas, así lo veo.

Hace algún tiempo estaba de visita en un pequeño pueblo que se llama Paso Real de Macaira, está ubicado en el Estado Guárico de Venezuela. Es pueblo lo más cercano a una pequeña ciudad está a más de media hora en auto, y es tan pequeño que solo tiene alrededor de unas 10 calles y son calles de tierra.

Una noche de esas cuando estaba hablando con mis suegros veo que vienen varios niños corriendo y divirtiéndose como solo se pueden divertir los niños. Veo que vienen en algo que está iluminando todo y en medio de la oscuridad no podía ver muy bien qué era, hasta que estuvieron muy cerca del lugar donde yo estaba con mi familia. Simplemente me quedé impresionado de esa genialidad de las cual mencioné, lo que más me impresionó es que esta genialidad era de unos niños.

Mientras más cerca estaban de mí, los detuve porque simplemente quería saber cómo lo hicieron, cómo convirtieron esas cosas ordinarias como lo es un simple huacal de plástico. Les pregunté de todo: cómo lo hicieron, qué materiales usaron y si alguien los ayudó. Eran niños con edades comprendidas desde 5 años hasta el mayor de ellos que tenía 13 años, y ese chamo de 13 años con la ayuda de otros dos que tenían 11 años hicieron esa especie de camión para jugar con su hermanito menor de 5 años.

Aunque insistieron que solo fueron ellos, me di cuenta de que hubo ayuda de un adulto, lo digo por la estructura de hierro que sostenía todas las piezas. Pero haciendo a un lado la ayuda de un adulto, el joven de 13 años me explicó con lujo de detalle cómo fue que se le ocurrió esa idea de construir ese mini camión. Resulta que estaban jugando con ese huacal arrastrando a su hermano y se les ocurrió colocar unas ruedas. Buscaron las ruedas y les hacía falta donde montarlas. Nunca asumieron que los ayudaron, pero yo no les seguí preguntando por eso, así que armaron su camión con todas las cosas que consiguieron para armarlo.

Con respecto a la iluminación también me contaron que usaron cables de luces que usan para adornar los árboles de Navidad. Lo que me pareció fascinante es que yo no podía ver la batería que usaban para eso. Porque me imaginé que tenía una batería de las que usan los UPS, pero no, tenía una batería de un celular. El joven me comentó que él fue probando con la batería del celular para saber cuántas luces se prendían usando la batería, y en la medida que no prendían las luces él iba quitando luces hasta que encontró el punto donde todas las luces se prendían con la pequeña batería.

El joven también me contó que esa idea se le ocurrió porque el celular dejó de funcionar, no prendía. Pero a pesar de que no prendía, se dio cuenta de que cuando conectaba el celular la batería agarraba carga normal, y cuando se iba la luz en su casa, él le sacaba la batería al celular y con unas pequeñas luces LED las usaba para iluminar su hogar, o bueno, lo usaba para iluminar un poco su hogar. Eso me lo aclaró cuando se dio cuenta de que no me lo creía, pero para la muestra un botón: si podía iluminar ese camión, no dudo que se pueda iluminar un poco su hogar de la forma como él lo describió.

Allí en ese camión de juguete hecho de forma rudimentaria hay tecnología, no solamente hay tecnología, también puedes ver que hay mucho ingenio, de unos niños que ni siquiera viven en la ciudad donde pudieran tener más oportunidades. Pero como dicen por allí: la necesidad es la madre de la invención. Tenían ganas de jugar y de complacer a su hermano más pequeño y terminaron construyendo un camión con muchas luces. De verdad a mí eso me pareció algo supergenial.

A small cargo truck

This kind of publications are the ones that help the system. Today I met this community, which I find very interesting because of the topics that can be addressed in the course of the month. Today is my first time and it fell like a glove, for a long time I wanted to write on the subject of technology but did not know how to get into it. Now, I am not a technological expert but I think we can be surprised with the genius of man to adapt things and turn them into other things and that for me is technology.

Today, Wednesday, the proposal is about "Technology ” and my theme is Rural Technology. One can be surprised how we can find technology in very remote places where the precariousness of the resources are limited and in spite of that great things come out, that's how I see it.

Some time ago I was visiting a small town called Paso Real de Macaira, located in the Guarico State of Venezuela. It is the closest town to a small city is more than half an hour away by car, and it is so small that it only has about 10 streets and they are dirt roads.

One of those nights when I was talking to my in-laws I see several children running and having fun as only children can have fun. I see that they come in something that is illuminating everything and in the dark I could not see very well what it was, until they were very close to the place where I was with my family. I was simply impressed by the genius I mentioned, what impressed me the most was that this genius was from some children.

The closer they were to me, I stopped them because I simply wanted to know how they did it, how they converted those ordinary things like a simple plastic crate. I asked them about everything: how they did it, what materials they used and if anyone helped them. They were children ranging in age from 5 years old to the oldest of them who was 13 years old, and that 13 year old boy with the help of two others who were 11 years old made that kind of truck to play with his younger brother who was 5 years old.

Although they insisted that it was only them, I realized that there was help from an adult, I say this because of the iron structure that supported all the pieces. But leaving aside the help of an adult, the 13 year old explained to me in detail how he came up with the idea of building that mini truck. It turns out that they were playing with that crate dragging his brother and it occurred to them to put some wheels on it. They were looking for the wheels and they needed a place to mount them. They never assumed they helped them, but I didn't keep asking them about it, so they put their truck together with all the stuff they got to put it together.

Regarding the lighting they also told me that they used wires from lights that they use to decorate Christmas trees. What I found fascinating is that I couldn't see the battery they used for that. Because I imagined it had a UPS battery, but no, it had a cell phone battery. The young man told me that he was testing with the cell phone battery to see how many lights would turn on using the battery, and as the lights did not turn on he was removing lights until he found the point where all the lights would turn on with the small battery.

The young man also told me that this idea came to him because the cell phone stopped working, it would not turn on. But even though it wouldn't turn on, he realized that when he connected the cell phone the battery would take a normal charge, and when the power went out in his house, he would take the battery out of the cell phone and with some small LED lights he would use them to illuminate his home, or well, he used it to illuminate his home a little bit. He made that clear to me when he realized that I didn't believe it, but for the sample a button: if he could illuminate that truck, I don't doubt that his home could be illuminated a little bit the way he described it.

There in that crudely made toy truck there is technology, not only technology, you can also see that there is a lot of ingenuity, from kids who don't even live in the city where they could have more opportunities. But as they say over there: necessity is the mother of invention. They wanted to play and please their younger brother and ended up building a truck with lots of lights. I really thought that was super cool.
