Hello, how are you? Wow, I never thought this was the last street-food clay keychain I made this year, and I hope I can make more by next year. I've been thinking about stepping up my keychain making next year, LOL, I guess I'll challenge myself to do that.
So, for the last street-food clay keychain of the year, I am going to make a squid ball. This street food is kind of a prankster. The moment that the BBQ stick pokes into that squid ball, all the big squid ball you think it is deflates after LOL.
Materials I Used:
- Polymer Clay
- Portable Weighing Scale
- Gum Container
- Toothpick
- Alcohol
- Qtip
- Soft Pastel
- Makeup Brush
- Eyepin
- Silicone Mat
- Oven
- UV Resin
- Disposable Gloves
- UV Lamp
- Pliers
- Keychain
Craft Time!
Because the polymer I bought is soft, it took me small time to condition it, so if it is hard, you need time to knead it.
Weighing the clay, I needed to make sure they're equally in size. I will need four equal-sized clay.
I shape and add texture to the clay just using my hand. So squid balls tend to deflate after cooking, so I tend to have wrinkles, so yeah, by pinching it, I will achieve that texture.
After that, I am going to poke the clay into the toothpick. I do it one at a time.
After I poke in the first and to the next, and this is what it looks like.
To clean off any micro dust and to remove any fingerprints, I use alcohol and qtip to do the job.
Now the clay is clean and smooth, I am going to add shades to it using soft pastels and a makeup brush, a regular paint brush can do the job too.
After that, I am going to put in the eyepin.
Now it is time to bake the clay. What I do is to place the clay onto a silicone mat that can only be used for clay craft, and then I pre-bake the oven first and then bake it according to the instructions said into the packaging. Before proceeding to the next step, make sure to cool down the clay first.
Time to glaze, what I do is to pour UV Resin onto a disposable plastic and then add soft pastel, and then I mix until well combined.
Then I added those mixtures to the clay.
And then I cure it under a UV Lamp for about 5 minutes or until it is no longer sticky.
I forgot to add the chilis, so I will now LOL.
Now I am going to add the keychain to the clay. I am going to use two pliers and a keychain, and what I do is I put the jump ring into the eyepin.
And then I lock the jump ring using the two pliers, and the keychain is done!
Squid Ball Keychain!
