What Is Ragnarok
Ragnarok is an NFT based deck builder strategy game built on the Hive blockchain. It starts as game of chess before moving to a 1-on-1 battle system. The piece are Gods, Titans, and other legendary beings.
Backdrop
The end of the world us here. Each year, all beings have to choose sides and battle it out. This is ongoing, allowing players to gain new Gods, Titans, and beings.
Ragnarok is a strategic Pay2Earn deck builder game that resides in a mythological setting. The game spans all mythology, starting with Norse and moving on from there.
Gameplay
With Ragnarok, the game dynamics are rather simple.
Starting out as chess, moves are made simpler to the age old game. The difference is that, when the players meet, a battle to the death ensues. The gods, titans, or legendary beings square off until the end.
Since the game is evolving and growing, much like life, all prior knowledge about chess is likely not useful. Ragnarok is designed to test the mettle of all who participate. Nothing is easy in the game and nobody enjoys an advantage. Creativity, insight, and personal reflection are traits that could help players to excel.
Core Playback Loop
- Chess
- 1-on-1 battle (Spells/Hero Direct Attack)
- Upon death, game reverts back to chess until one King is defeated
End of Battle
When one of your gods loses all their health points, they get knocked out of the game, and their respective chess piece gets knocked off the board.

Alpha testing projected to start at the end of 2022 with full beta release in 2023.
