Tita Lhes, Tita Lhes, I heard someone calling me while knocking on the door. I was still in my bed, hugging my pillows as I savored the moment of peace. It was different once you were at home, sleeping in your bed. The comfort and peace that couldn't be explained. Tita Lhes, are you awake? It's morning already. I almost forgot, that's the husband's nephews calling me; every time they know I am home, they would pay a visit. Ah, I needed to get up as much as I wanted to sleep more.
I was greeted by three cute kiddos standing at the doorstep and happily ran inside the moment I opened the door.
Sometimes, I couldn't help but be amazed at how energetic kids can be. They got the fastest hands, and in just a blink of an eye, they are already busy with something else.
Like this, hey kiddos, what are you guys doing with the slippers?
It seems it will be a long day, so I needed my energy drink! I put water in the electric kettle and prepare my coffee! You read it right! It was coffee! I tried several times to stop, but then again, I still found myself in the old routine. I may succeed and not have a cup for a week or two; however, seemed my body was programmed sometimes 🤣. Then, I just find myself sitting on the table with a cup of coffee in my hands! Could anyone relate?
I am into brewed, that was too strong for me; what I am drinking is this;
Nescafe is one of the most well-known instant coffee in my country. I even thought it originated here. Thus, when I checked, I was surprised to know it was first launched in Switzerland in April 1938. Introduced here in the Philippines in the 1960s. Source
It was powdered coffee, and all you need is hot water. It would be your choice if you wanted pure black or with cream. Me? I prefer a partner so does my coffee, lol. When I was younger, I used to add powder milk and sugar. Now, I prefer coffeemate.
Sugar? My love for sweets somehow lessen, so no for me. I like it a bit bitter, so I have a teaspoon of coffee and two teaspoons of coffee-mate. Sometimes I couldn't get the blend to my liking so, I would add a little of either the two
Yes, perfect for me!
What goes with coffee in the morning? If you are a Filipino, aside from fried rice, salted fish, and eggs, it matches with pancit canton and bread.
I dropped by a bakery the other day, and I bought some Spanish bread and Pandecoco since I had pancit canton at home. Both are one of my favorites and hard to choose, so why not have it all?
What's the difference?
Spanish bread filing is sugar, breadcrumbs and butter while the Pandecoco is coconut, sugar, etc.
The sweetness of the bread, combined with spicy pancit canton, made me want to drink more coffee! And when I am done? I am ready to start the day!
What about you? What do you prefer to pair with your coffee?
Hello to all Coffee lovers! It's been a while since the last time write here. How's everyone? Hope had a great weekend.
