I have always been a firm believer that it is essential to surround yourself with people who you truly value and those who value you in return. Lately, I have had this realization that it's quite difficult to establish friendship nowadays living in this fast-paced world. It's so hard to be at ease with people you just met and it's hard to find peace knowing there are those who may take advantage of you. Fortunately, I have established friendships years ago and I am proud to say that we have managed to sustain our friendship despite all the obligations that we need to attend to in life.
Last Saturday, I managed to spend time with my bestfriends again, Pamela and Katrina. I think I have featured Pamela before in my previous blog posts when we visited an art exhibit and when we went on a sports adventure probably months ago. I have been friends with Pamela and Katrina for almost a decade now since we have been friends since we were in our first year of high school. It was quite a spontaneous Saturday since Pamela and I initially planned on going to this trampoline park and we also planned on attending a sunset yoga class. However, Katrina messaged us and told us that she would buy us beverages and desserts at Starbucks. She also informed us that she was waiting for us at the Ayala Mall. Since Pamela and I live relatively close to each other, we rode a bus together to the mall. Upon, arriving at the mall, we panicked because the scene was quite chaotic. There was apparently a fire alarm and the lights were flickering since apparently a generator caught on fire outside of the mall. Since, we were quite anxious already, we messaged Katrina that we would meet her at the Starbucks branch located outside the mall.
My friends and I had a variety of orders. Pamela ordered a Chocolate Chip Frappuccino, Katrina ordered Iced Matcha and surprisingly, after I took a sip of it, it was actually good. I was never a fan of Matcha but this moment changed my mind. Meanwhile, I ordered my favorite drink, Salted Caramel Cold Brew. I normally order it with a pump of white chocolate but I am currently cutting down on sugar. We also ordered cheesecake and flatbread since the three of us were starving.
Upon arriving at this Starbucks branch located outside Ayala Mall, Katrina immediately told us to order beverages along with some desserts. Apparently, I was the only one who ordered coffee since Pamela ordered a Frappuccino while Katrina ordered a Matcha drink. We thought Katrina would only pay for our beverages but she then eventually asked us to order some desserts since she was starving as well.
This was not my first time visiting this branch since I was able to visit this branch a few months ago. Back then, I remembered that the area was practically empty but now since the health restrictions have eased up already, the place was practically filled with a variety of individuals. Some were there to catch up while sipping a cup while some were medical students studying for their upcoming examination. It's nice to see that life is slowly going back to normal. It's also nice to witness individuals from all walks of life sitting in this coffee place. What I love about this branch of Starbucks is its beautiful view of the city life. Luckily, we got seats located by the window so I was able to witness the clear blue skies.
After catching up with my constants, basically just catching up about life and our recent shenanigans, we kindly asked a security guard outside of the building to take a photo of us and he gladly took some shots for us. It was such a beautiful afternoon catching up with my constants. I am truly grateful for our friendship that definitely transcends time and distance. I know that I can always count on them no matter what happens.
