Organización y cuidado de la vegetación de mi Barrio [es/en]

Vivo en un barrio, ubicado en Ciudad de La Habana, en el municipio Plaza de la Revolución. A pesar de estar en una zona urbana muy céntrica, una de las cosas que más me gusta es la abundante vegetación que lo rodea. Es un detalle que aprecio mucho.

I live in a neighborhood, located in Havana City, in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality. Despite being in a very central urban area, one of the things I like the most is the abundant vegetation that surrounds it. It is a detail that I appreciate very much.

Hoy me uno a la iniciativa de Hive account@aprilinleo, donde compartiré lo que me gustaría cambiar en mi barrio. Hay varias cosas en mente, pero me centraré en el tema de la vegetación que nos rodea, ya que creo que es importante por los beneficios que nos aporta.

Pasear entre los árboles es sumamente agradable, ya que nos ofrecen sombras refrescantes donde refugiarnos del sol. Además, la presencia de follaje permite que la brisa nos acaricie, algo especialmente necesario en este país tropical para aliviar el sofocante calor. Y nada mejor que los árboles para purificar el aire que respiramos, como verdaderos sanadores que transforman el dióxido de carbono en oxígeno puro para nuestros pulmones.

Today I join Hive account@aprilinleo initiative, where I will share what I would like to change in my neighborhood. There are several things in mind, but I will focus on the subject of the vegetation that surrounds us, as I think it is important for the benefits it brings us.
Walking among the trees is extremely pleasant, as they offer us refreshing shadows where we can take shelter from the sun. In addition, the presence of foliage allows the breeze to caress us, something especially necessary in this tropical country to alleviate the sweltering heat. And there is nothing better than trees to purify the air we breathe, as true healers that transform carbon dioxide into pure oxygen for our lungs.

Sin embargo, creo que todo el tema de la plantación de diferentes tipos de árboles y vegetción en la ciudad debería llevarse a cabo de forma planificada y organizada. Es fundamental estudiar qué tipo de plantas deben ubicarse en cada lugar, teniendo en cuenta el tipo de raíz y de follaje. Desgraciadamente, esto no siempre es así en algunos lugares cercanos a mi domicilio.

However, I believe that the whole issue of planting different types of trees and vegetation in the city should be carried out in a planned and organized manner. It is essential to study what type of plants should be located in each place, taking into account the type of root and foliage. Unfortunately, this is not always the case in some places near my home.

En mi zona, el alumbrado y la telefonía se realizan mediante cables, y hay grandes árboles que no se podan periódicamente y crecen demasiado, quedando entrelazados con los cables, causando daños y molestias a los que vivimos aquí. Además, en algunos casos, cerca de los cables eléctricos hay plantas invasoras en forma de enredaderas que cubren los cables.

In my area, lighting and telephony are done by wires, and there are large trees that are not pruned periodically and grow too much, becoming intertwined with the wires, causing damage and inconvenience to those of us who live here. In addition, in some cases, near the power lines there are invasive plants in the form of vines that cover the wires.

También hay árboles plantados cuyas raíces han causado estragos en las aceras debido a su tamaño y grosor. De este modo, nuestros hermosos y útiles árboles se convierten en una molestia, ya que estos desperfectos no sólo afean la ciudad, sino que crean barreras arquitectónicas peligrosas para cualquiera, especialmente para niños, ancianos y personas con movilidad reducida.

There are also planted trees whose roots have wreaked havoc on the sidewalks due to their size and thickness. Thus, our beautiful and useful trees become a nuisance, as these blemishes not only disfigure the city, but also create dangerous architectural barriers for anyone, especially children, the elderly and people with reduced mobility.

Además, el cuidado de las plantas no se limita a plantarlas y dejar que la madre naturaleza haga su trabajo. Es necesario realizar labores de mantenimiento, como podar raíces y ramas cuando sea necesario, trasplantar, mover la tierra, etc. Si un árbol cae, no debe dejar permanecer durante meses obstruyendo y afeando la ciudad.

In addition, caring for plants is not limited to planting them and letting Mother Nature do her job. It is necessary to carry out maintenance work, such as pruning roots and branches when necessary, transplanting, moving the soil, etc. If a tree falls, it should not be left to stand for months obstructing and disfiguring the city.

Por eso, si hay algo que me gustaría mejorar en mi barrio, sería precisamente el cuidado y conservación de la vegetación.
