Hi all 👋🏻
Today I want to share some of my RECENT adventures of traveling to the States. Yes….! Today is the day… I hear some of you thinking hehehe 🤭
I’m still going through many photographs that I took 😇 and I have to edit and sort them out a bit more... 🤓 but this part I finished, so here it is 🤩
With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk challenge and Make me Smile challenge. That are hosted by and
every week on Wednesday.
‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk Community if you want to join in! or at ’s Posts about it.
It will tell you also the rules of joining in, at the end of his posts about the Wednesday walk 😁
Today’s selection will be of 34 photographs, where I take you along on a visit to the ”Sanderson Brook Falls Trail” in Chester - Massachusetts. It is part of the Chester-Blandford State Forest.
I visited this area on 26 September and it is part of my trip around some New England States in the USA 23 September - 9 October 2022 🇺🇸 😊
The Photographs in this post are taken with my new Canon R5 with 24 - 105 mm lens. 😎
I will follow the time stamps on my photographs. So it looks like you are walking along with me 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 discovering this trail and see the surroundings through my eyes. 😊
Let me show you first its location on Google maps, see the yellow star ⭐️ :
It is truly in the middle of nature…
Zooming out so you see some towns:
Let’s start our walk, are you joining me?
After we parked our car… we see some trees changed their colours for the fall… but not many yet.
I try to hunt for some more colours and mushrooms on this trail… 😉 I’m excited… this is our first forest we visit early in our trip 😎 and after I bought my camera. So here I’m playing with all the new fancy features and settings I didn’t have on my 10 year old Canon 550d 😉 I didn’t over edit the photos in this post, except light and contrast this early in my journey of exploring my new camera. 😎📸 so you see what I truly saw 🤓
The State forest sign:
A branch with leaves that just caught some light…
The path we will follow most of the time… 😊
I find some flowers next to the path, a perfect opportunity to capture #alwaysaflower 😉 as always says… a post needs a flower 😉
As we walk further, I see we are walking next to this brook…
As we step over this fallen tree trunk…
We walk a little along this brook.
Some details can’t be missed too 😊
As we got back to the trail, our eyes caught this little tag high up the tree 🌳
We see everywhere interesting details and features… like this bottom part of the trees 🌳 covered in moss.
We see some yellow and orange leaves 🍁 on the ground and look up… our view 😎
We start walking further again and see the brook from the middle of a little bridge.
As we cross the little iron bridge further and look towards the other side, I see my first mushroom on our US trip… 🥳🥳🎉🎉 that I even spotted it is a miracle. It is so tiny. Let me zoom out…. 😊
It was sitting on a tree trunk… next to the bridge. Tiny isn’t it?
We walk further and see a bend in the path… a sign will be there telling us to go down in the valley, off the path 😎
Following a very tiny path down… sometimes steep… I see some more #flowers and this #bee 🐝🐝🐝🐝
HOW CAN I NOT CAPTURE IT? and test the camera a bit more… 😉🤓📸🐝🌼
As it flew from flower to flower… I follow my sweetest little bee 🐝 friend 🥰
So cute 🥰 my heart melts 😉🐝🌼 I love bees… but you could have guessed that already. Hehehe 🤭
Let’s walk further.
Under our feet we find lots of roots now, while we go down into the valley more.
At the end of the tiny path we find the Sanderson Brook Falls: tadddaaaaa 😎 have a look at how pretty the falls are 😊
Let’s have a closer look!
As we are taking in the beauty of the falls, it starts to drizzle 🌧
A wider view… 📸🤓
Standing at the foot of the falls, when we look towards the right… we see the brook.
A look back up the falls, we see some yellow leaves, but not many. But that tiny bit of yellow makes our hearts skip a beat 🍁🍂… the seasons are definitely changing.
Some details around us.
It starts to properly rain 🌧 now… we didn’t expect rain as the weather app didn’t predict any. So we have rain gear in the car, but not on the trail hehehe 🤭 so we are getting wet… I protect my new camera… it is baptised on it’s first day we are a team now 😎
We walk quickly up the steeper smaller path back to the main path now in the rain 🌧
Half way back… the trail… we see…
Everywhere wet plants, leaves and trees. Even the tree canopy doesn’t keep us dry this time.
I couldn’t help myself and had to capture this glistering in the light.
We find one red leaf 🍁 at the end of the trail.
As we almost reached the car… some flowers jump out in the rain 🌧
Hurry now… let’s jump in the car 🚗 and warm up a bit from the cold and rain 🌧
And that’s all for today’s post my friends, join me next time for more #adventures, #stories and #photographs 😎👋🏻 Even some #artworks once in a while will come by 🎨
