Hello everyone, I decided to paint another rooster today. This one's smaller than the one I did a few days ago. I wasn't planning on painting a small one but the way I calculated my grid led to this result and I didn't want to erase so much and start again so as not to damage my paper.
Here's what it looks like
I started with a sketch
And then picked my colors. They were crimson red, burnt umber. A bit of pale yellow and ultramarine blue. I also picked a green. I painted with little dilution just to see if there would be a change in the vibrancy of the colors on this watercolor pad. I see a better quality but I'm wondering if I needed to order the hot press instead. I'll know for sure in the following days.
Alright, I proceeded to fully paint this and took care to ensure the feathers were distinct since I wasn't planning on doing an ink and wash today. Here's a close up without the legs. Reason why is because I wasn't too pleased with the legs.
So, for the legs, I decided to blur them out in a new wash which served as my background
And that's it for this one. Cheers!
