The Leo infra sign up has been live for some weeks now and I presume most people must have already ran a test on it.
So one of the zealy quest was for us to onboard a new user through the Leo infra using either X or Google sign up methods.
Although I had already ruled out claiming the quest but I decided to give it one last try. So on getting to the office today, I told one of my colleagues that I would want him to sign up on Hive. Infact I told him that it was going to be an experiment and that it wouldn't take much of his time. At first he didn't want to but he later agreed so we began the process of onboarding him. In my mind I was praying that network service be steady till we finish setting up the acc Also, that we do not encounter any bugs which may likely discourage him from continuing.
- First I sent him the Leo link on WhatsApp.
- He clicked on it and was directed to the Leo Sign up / log in frontend.
He chose the X option for sign up and he was directed to X page where Leo requested his authorization to check his account, to which he approved.
After that he was redirected to Leo so he can create a Hive account. So he proceeded to input his username.
At first he imputed just kinghenry but it didn't go through so he added some figures making it kinghenry123 and boom his account was created like speed of lightening with username
- I then suggested he log in so we confirm the account activation, to which he did and it directed him to leothreads frontend as you can see in the image below.
- I also told him to create a welcome threads which he did, before I stepped out to attend to a client with the hope that when I come back I will capture it too but on coming back I found out that the threads didn't actually index.
I don't really know it didn't and there was no way we could continue because he I had to go leave the office for other work.
Hopefully, tomorrow we will finish up.

Here are some findings on the Leo Infra Sign Up
- Signing up is easy
I can vividly remember the day I was signing up some months ago, it was just like a difficult task. I download three set of keys before I could get through which made it even more difficult for me because I had to test all the keys to know which was the right one. At some point I almost gave up but I was determined to get through.
But with this Leo infra, signing up is so easy. The new user wouldn't have to face the rigorous process of downloading keys, Keychain app, discord and the rest just to be able to engage as a newbie. Now once a new user gets onboard, he or she starts interacting with other users immediately without delay.
Another thing is that the newbie starts earning tokens on leothreads as his threads are being upvoted even from the very first minute.
- Signing up is fast
Unlike in my own onboarding which took like almost the whole day, Leo infra sign up is so fast just like the way threads were indexing the first day we tried Labs Leo went live on AMA WEN Soon show. It was a fast scale.,abd I was happy with it.
- It presents a user friendly interface*
Signing up using the Leo infra method makes the new user see the UI as user friendly, and this will excite him the more to engage in the blockchain and interact with others.
And with the new features on the UI like the For You Feed and the rest, navigating through the UI will be so easy and seamless.
I like this method of Leo infra sign up because by this way new users aren't overwhelmed upon signing up at first, rather they are given the opportunity of gradually learning about the community and how to navigate.
Also they are made to be a part of the happenings in the community, creating contents and engaging with other creators too, earning from their contents.
And as time goes on they are now introduced into downloading of keys so they can take full ownership of their accounts and begin to transact with it including enjoying their earnings too.
Having experienced the seamless onboarding of a new user using the Leo infra X sign up method, I mustn't fail to appreciate this great initiative by the Leo team. It is indeed awesome.
These methods will really help attract new users to Leo and the Hive ecosystem.
