The "Closing Prices for Some Cryptos" series made it into February after a late start in January 2022. Besides continuing coverage of the first Hive Project, hive.ausbit.dev, another set of closing prices will be presented. This post will show the closing prices for some cryptos as of 2022 February 1.

This is the reason for this post!
| Crypto | USD (Previous) | 1 February 2022 | 24h Trend | Streak[*] |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 38,556.000 | 38,836.000 | UP ↗ | wlwwwlww |
| Ethereum | 2,689.220 | 2,797.430 | UP ↗ | wwlW |
| Litecoin | 109.680 | 115.570 | UP ↗ | llwwwlww |
| HBD | 1.000 | 0.978 | DOWN ↘ | wlwwlwwl |
| Hive | 0.974 | 0.968 | DOWN ↘ | Wlwl |
| Cub Finance | 0.244 | 0.246 | UP ↗ | wlwuwllw |
Closing Prices come from their respective Historical Data pages at CoinGecko.com.
[*] = Now that streaks are getting longer to display-- especially a series of short streaks, I decided to use the following shorthand:
w = 1 Win w
W = 5w = wwwww
! = 2W = WW = wwwwwwwwww
--> (Wins are EXCELLENT!!)
l = 1 Loss
L = 5l = lllll
? = 2L = LL = llllllllll
--> (Loss? Why, crypto, WHY??)
u = 1 UNCHANGED
U = 5u = uuuuu
- = 2U = UU = uuuuuuuuuu
a = L1W1L1W1 -- alternating streak starting with L
A = W1L1W1L1 -- alternating streak starting with W
Winners (Closed Higher)
- BTC closed higher today for its 6th winning close in the last 8 trading sessions. It's closing pattern has been
wlwwrepeated twice. Not that it will repeat for a 3rd consecutive time, but the L's are scattered her and there. - ETH convert its
wwwwinto aWby closing for its 5th consecutivew.? - LTC continues to distance itself from its last
lfor its second consecutivewand its 5thwout of the last 8 closings. - CUB closed higher for a
wafter althe previous close. Can CUB pick up some steam and string somews to convert to aW? As a famous person said, "we shall see."
Losers (Closed Lower)
- HBD closed 3 cents lower after hitting the benchmark 1.000 the previous close. The closing price is still within the accepted tolerance for the stablecoin of the Hive ecosystem, so this is not a concern.
- HIVE went down a wee bit, which is not a concern. A concern would be if it goes down "a wee bit" for enough closings to convert a series of
ls into aL.
Why Those Cryptos?
Bitcoin and Ethereum
BTC and ETH have a combined market dominance of 57.2%. BTC dominates ETH by more than 2 to 1.
HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar
When we earn HIVE from our activities, we also earn HBD.
Unlike the way Ethereum handles its Layer 2 tokens, earning activity done at Layer 2 on Hive blockchain is also posted to Hive itself at Layer 1. This is great if you publish posts and comments using the tribal front-end of your choice. This the case for Hivers using (for example) LeoFinance or Proof of Brain front ends. It would make sense that it should happen to CUB, but it doesn't since CUB is not part of Hive Layer 2. Speaking of CUB...
Cub Finance
It looks as if CUB is in a consolidating phase since it has been between 0.240 and 0.250 for 11 consecutive closings (9 of which have been tracked here). Will CUB crash through the 0.240 floor, or will it string enough ws to return to the 0.374 price it at the first closing of 2022?
Litecoin
Like BTC and ETH, transactions using LTC come at a cost. The TX Cost for LTC may be cheaper than that for BTC, but it is a steal compared to that of ETH. (HIVE has all 3 beat in this regard, but the comment is about Litecoin.)
Something To Read Besides a Table
Besides the other options for additional content which I've mentioned (NFTs, selfies, jokes, recipes, quotations, and links), it occured to me that I may be able to include chart graphics once enough time has passed in this series. When that will be, I can't say.
The Hive network and development platform has 156 dApps in various stages of development for the Hive platform. I thought it would be a good idea to stay in-house and promote our own offerings. Since this series is devoted to closing prices for some cryptos (with Litecoin replacing EOS), the natural first dApp to cover is hive.ausbit.dev by "@"ausbitbank.
Today's Bit about hive.ausbit.dev
The last post covered the Hive Souce menu item from the hamburger menu control. Today's post covers the Site Source menu item. It opens a separate tab or window leading to GitHub where the source code for the hive.ausbit.dev project resides. This site has perhaps the best description for hive.ausbit.dev:
About
A blockchain explorer, post viewer, and general toolkit for the Hive blockchain.
Below is a composite graphic showing the menu and the Site Source page at GitHub in a separate tab or window:

The next post takes a look at the set of menu items for off-chain communications:
Hive Discord, Hive Telegram, and OpenHive.chat.
Just My Two Sats
February is here, and I look forward to 28 consecutive days of providing closing prices. With enough closing prices in the books, perhaps I can provide historical data for BTC, ETH, LTC, HBD, HIVE, and CUB.
Post format continues to evolve, but it has settled down a bit. I wouldn't mind linking to an article for each crypto, but I don't know which sources to use which are also FUD-free.
The next couple of posts will consolidate several menu items for hive.ausbit.dev for these topics: post viewers and where to trade HIVE. After that, it's two final menu items in their own dedicated posts. I should consider which Hive Project will be the second I cover soon.

6-for-6, which is good! Everyone's a winner. Even Litecoin is a winner, although I was hoping for it to keep dropping until it went back below USD 100 so I could buy some then. As it is, it beats the USD 162 or even USD 134 Ihad been paying in recent weeks.
