Ecency, PeakD, and Hive.Blog are the Big Three front-ends we use if we're publishing non-tribal posts. There is actually a 4th general front-end we can use to browse posts from anywhere: hive.ausbit.dev. The front page of hive.ausbit.dev presents information concerning the operation of Hive network as well as Trending Posts. Also present-- and of interest to us all-- is a Coin Prices widget showing information for HIVE and HBD as well as Bitcoin, Ethereum and a couple of other altcoins. This post will show the closing prices for some cryptos as of 2022 January 24.

Why Those Cryptos?
Bitcoin and Ethereum
Their combined market dominance is close to 57%. That's reason enough.
HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar
As the cryptos we earn at Hive Social regardless of our tribal or community affiliations, it's natural for these to be included here.
Cub Finance
CUB is the child who grew up and went away to college, signed up for military service, or decided to go into the trades after high school. It's a product from Hive which went to reside on Binance Smart Chain. It's on sale, too, so buy while supplies last!
Litecoin
This is where I depart from hive.ausbit.dev, since it shows the price for EOS. Since I began to use Litecoin to bring money into Hiv Engine in November 2021, I've taking an interest to it. Although it's a direct hard fork from Bitcoin, it doesn't have the following of Bitcoin, and it is criminally undervalued. It also beats Ethereum when it comes to fees.
Something To Read Besides a Table
A Bit about hive.ausbit.dev
hive.ausbit.dev was developed as a project by . Its primary purpose is to be a blockchain explorer, so like its fellow dApps Hiveblocks and Hive Block Explorer, lets us search for account activity, block data, and transaction data.
However, hive.ausbit.dev also lets us view posts as content rendered by a front-end, In that sense, it's like using a read-only version of Ecency, PeakD, or Hive.Blog. Even though we can't publish posts from hive.ausbit.dev, it will let us make comments to those posts.
When hive.ausbit.dev first loads, it presents several sections organized as modules:
- The most recent block that was witnessed;
- "Recently shared by ausbitbank";
- API Nodes;
- Witnesses; and
- Coin Prices -- the reason for this post.
From this page, we can search by account name, block number, or transaction ID. Also on the page is a slide out menu activated by selecting the hamburger menu control. The next post will cover the hamburger menu in more detail.
Just My Two Sats
We're so used to using any of the 3 general front-ends for Hive Social (Ecency, PeakD, and Hive.Blog) that we aren't aware of alternatives that exist. When it comes to viewing and posts and replying to them, who would have guessed that a blog viewer was hidden inside a blockchain explorer? Yet that is part of the charm of hive.ausbit.dev developed by ausbitbank.
Starting with this post, I want to show the closing prices of a few cryptos:
- Bitcoin and Ethereum (because who isn't interested in those?);
- HIVE and HBD (because we earn those from our activities on the blockchain);
- Cub Finance (because it's part of Hive on Binance Smart Chain); and
- Litecoin (because I'm the post's author).
Besides the Coin Prices, I want to bring attention to some projects at Hive Projects. The Coin Prices come from hive.ausbit.dev, so it was natural for me to feature this blockchain explorer and content viewer. Other projects for Hive will be covered here, but the first is hive.ausbit.dev.
