As the third post in a daily series, streaks begin to take hold for the 6 cryptos tracked by closing price. Continuing streaks just have a number change. New streaks are appended after the previous streak to provide a new analysis tool. The "Closing Prices for Some Cryptos" series was inspired by the Coin Prices widget on the front page of the combination blockchain explorer and content viewer named hive.ausbit.dev. This post will show the closing prices for some cryptos as of 2022 January 26.

This is the reason for this post!
| Crypto | USD (Previous) | 26 January 2022 | 24h Trend | Streak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 36,774.000 | 36,870.000 | UP ↗ | W2 |
| Ethereum | 2,447.830 | 2,470.430 | UP ↗ | L1W1 |
| Litecoin | 109.980 | 107.020 | DOWN ↘ | L2 |
| HBD | 0.998 | 0.976 | DOWN ↘ | W1L1 |
| Hive | 0.851 | 0.877 | UP ↗ | W2 |
| Cub Finance | 0.244 | 0.241 | DOWN ↘ | W1L1 |
Closing Prices come from their respective Historical Data pages at CoinGecko.com.
BTC and HIVE continue their winning streaks at 2, but LTC keeps its losing streak going at 2. ETH ends its losing streak at 1 to start a winning streak. However, both HBD and CUB end their winning streaks at 1 to start losing streaks.
Why Those Cryptos?
Bitcoin and Ethereum
As I prepare this post, the combined market dominance of Bitcoin and Ethereum exceeds 59%. That's reason enough.
HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar
As the cryptos we earn at Hive Social regardless of our community or tribal affiliations, it's natural for these to be included here.
Cub Finance
CUB is the child who grew up and went away to college, backpack through Western Europe, signed up for military service, moped through South Asia, decided to go into the trades after high school, or protect endangered species in Africa. It's a product from Hive which went to reside on Binance Smart Chain. It's on sale, too, so buy while supplies last!
Litecoin
While hive.ausbit.dev covers the EOS price, I chose to cover the Litcoin price. Since I began to use Litecoin to bring money into Hive Engine in November 2021, I've taking an interest to it. Although it's a direct hard fork from Bitcoin capped at 84 million LTC, it doesn't have the following of Bitcoin, and it is criminally undervalued. It also beats Ethereum when it comes to fees.
Something To Read Besides a Table
When magazines were in their heyday as physical publications, some people bought certain magazines for the articles while others bought those same magazines for their visual media (and a few twisted people even bought that very magazine for its joke section). Just as those magazines offerred something for everyone, I'm taking that approach here. Some people will read this post for the Coin Prices covered here, and others will read this post to learn a bit about some project or other in the Hive ecosystem. It just makes sense that the first project featured here is hive.ausbit.dev.
Today's Bit about hive.ausbit.dev
Although the front page of hive.ausbit.dev shows modules and widgets for network status, links to blogs both trending and shared by , and Coin Prices, the dApp is primarily a blockhain explorer. This means that it will let anyone search for account activity, a Transaction ID (TX ID), or a a specific block by its number. After the search is made, it will present results in the expected manner of a blockchain explorer. The edited and annotated image below shows part of the search for the account

The next post will show what happens when using hive.ausbit.dev to search for the results of a TX ID.
Just My Two Sats
This post is the first in the series to show streaks for the 6 cryptos covered. Although more changes may be made to how the Closing Prices table is presented, it looks as if this will be the format for now.
While the front page for hive.ausbit.dev may show information not normally shown by a blockchain explorer, searching for any of 3 items returns results in the manner expected of a blockchain explorer.
Other projects for Hive will be covered here, but for now we continue with hive.ausbit.dev since it has much to offer regular users of the Big 3 front-ends (Ecency, PeakD, and Hive.Blog).
