Streaks, streaks, and streaks! Winning streaks, losing streaks, alternating streaks-- even an UNCHANGED streak! Will these streaks continue as they are? Will the streaks change in some way? Will the UNCHANGED streak go into a 2nd closing? We shall see. - BTC and HIVE are bot at 5 straight W's,
- After starting L2, LTC is now W3.
- ETH broke the alternating pattern by winning 2 consecutive closingsfor the first time.
- HBD's W streak ended at 2 with today's closing L.
- CUB absolutely went up for a W after closing virtually UNCHANGED the previous day.
Why Those Cryptos?
Bitcoin and Ethereum
There is Bitcoin, and then there is everything else. Leading "everything else" in market cap is Ethereum. As I prepare this post, the combined market dominance of Bitcoin and Ethereum close to 57%.
HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar
HIVE is the token of the Hive blockchain and development platform. Decentralized social media is the name of the game for HIVE, and HIVE means business; just ask the people at Steemit and on Steem blockchain. HBD is Hive-based Dollar, the stablecoin supported by Hive.
Cub Finance
Cub Finance continues the large cat theme made famous by LeoFinance and its LEO token. While descended from LeoFinance, it moved away from home to establish its own presence at Binance Smart Chain. With the first UNCHANGED streak of this post series, the sale on CUB continues. Buy CUB while supplies last!
Litecoin
Litecoin is essentially 95% of Bitcoin. A recent modification for Litecoin is on a testnet to make sure the proposed feature works as intended. What is this feature? The MimbleWimble privacy protocol. If you're familiar with Harry Potter, then you have an idea what MimbleWimble can do for Litecoin. Early 2022 is when Litecoin is expected to migrate MW from testnet to mainnet. What does Bitcoin do for privacy? Nothing!
Something To Read Besides a Table
I could just give closing prices for these 6 cryptos, but that may not be of sufficient value for some readers. What else could I include in this "short-form" post series?
- NFTs, only this section of the post would be as blank as my brain on this topic.
- Selfies-- selfies? C'mon, man!
- Jokes, but I think I blew my wad when I published this post on 12 January 2022.
- Recipes, but I can't afford a lawyer for the lawsuits.
- Quotes from movies, pop-culture, business, history, etc. is a possibility, but I need to pick my spots.
- Links to articles could work, although I haven't fine-tuned my link finding process to be able to do this regularly.
With 156 dApps in various stages of development for the Hive platform, I thought it would be a good idea to stay in-house and promote our own offerings. Since this series is devoted to closing prices for some coins, the natural first dApp to cover is hive.ausbit.dev by "@"ausbitbank.

The last post covered searching for details for a given block number. Today's post covers the Create an Account menu item from the hamburger menu control. Selecting this menu item launches a new tab or window which goes to the onboarding web site for new Hivers. There are many ways for someone to sign up for a Hive account; this is just one way. Just My Two Sats
Streaks start. Streaks end. Streaks continue. Which of these happens can vary on any given "closing" of the crypto markets. Since the crypto markets are open 24/7/365, "closing" is just when the calendar moves from one set of 24 hours to the next.
For now, the format of this series of posts is set. I'm considering alternatives or additions to it, many of which would get me in trouble. Whether I use any or not, the featuring of dApps from Hive Projects is a staple feature.
