Today I go behind the scenes to show what I discovered while using digitized maps of Lupton, Arizona near New Mexico.

Current State of #GHAWG
As of Christmas 2023, Our Heroes had reached San Diego, where they parted company with Harry Hoqualogue and The Mongols. From there, the (much smaller) crew led by David Guardia needs to ride east:
- Rhonda Bella is an independent trucker from Davenport, Iowa;
- The Marchenko Twins (Hank & Frank) are from elsewhere in Iowa;
- Sanjay Rampersad and Lionel Odunsi are foreign exchange students studying at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill;
- Lindsay Etxeberria is another denizen of Iowa, although her point of origin is unknown;
- David himself began his ride from Bayonne, New Jersey, but he isn't going back; instead, he begins the next phase of his life in Davenport, Iowa as Rhonda Bella's husband.
#GHAWG as of 2024-March
By the time the calendar moves into 2024-March, Our Heroes will be close to leaving Arizona and entering New Mexico as they ride the path laid out by the original Route 66 of musical fame. Because of the nature of the area-- southeastern California, Arizona, and soon New Mexico-- many zapfic entries read more like a travelogue than a fictional story.
At the rate of 1 zapfic entry per day, it will be around 2024-March-01 when Our Heroes reach the Arizona-New Mexico state lines. The last town of note in Arizona on Old Route 66 going east is Lupton.
Much of the Arizona and New Mexico area is desert. That's a far cry from the metropolises which are more common in New York and New England. So how surprised was I to see this particular item on a digital map:
Less than 1 mile from the state lines was a Coin Cloud Bitcoin ATM. At the moment, Coin Cloud Bitcoin ATM is under bankruptcy protection; by the time GHAWG takes place, who knows whether it will be ancient history or upgraded for the future.
How can the Coin Cloud Bitcoin ATM be used in GHAWG?
- Although David Guardia is heavy on $HIVE and $HBD, he can buy and sell Sats;
- Rhonda Bella can continue adding to her stack of $ETH;
- Hank & Frank Marchenko can keep buying $DOGE;
- Sanjay Rampersad or Lionel Odunsi can buy $LTC;
- Lindsay Etxeberria can learn a bit about cryptocurrency from the others.
Actual time spent in this area near Lupton will be minimal, but there can be a few zapfic entries coming out of this opportunity to write about cryptocurrency as a storytelling element.
